About the role

As a Senior Network Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining our network infrastructure to ensure reliability, scalability, and performance. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements, identify technical solutions, and implement best practices. The ideal candidate will have expertise in network protocols and technologies, with a focus on BGP, Ethernet, RoCEv2, SONiC, PCIe, CXL, and XGMI.

What you'll do

  1. Network Design and Architecture:

    • Design and architect scalable, high-performance network solutions to meet business requirements and future growth needs.
    • Evaluate new technologies and industry trends to drive innovation and optimize network performance.
    • Develop network topology diagrams, configuration templates, and documentation for reference and training purposes.
  2. Network Implementation and Deployment:

    • Configure and deploy network devices, including switches, routers, firewalls, and load balancers, according to design specifications.
    • Implement routing protocols such as BGP for efficient traffic routing and network redundancy.
    • Configure and optimize Ethernet, RoCEv2, PCIe, CXL, and XGMI protocols to support high-speed data transfer and low-latency communication.
  3. Network Monitoring and Optimization:

    • Monitor network performance and traffic patterns using monitoring tools and logs to identify and troubleshoot issues proactively.
    • Conduct performance tuning and optimization to improve network efficiency, reliability, and security.
    • Implement network segmentation and access controls to enhance security and compliance.
  4. Collaboration and Teamwork:

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including systems engineers, software developers, and IT operations, to integrate network solutions with other systems and applications.
    • Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and team members, fostering knowledge sharing and skill development.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in network engineering roles, with a focus on designing and implementing complex network solutions.
  • Expertise in network protocols and technologies, including BGP, Ethernet, RoCEv2, SONiC, PCIe, CXL, and XGMI.
  • Hands-on experience with network equipment from leading vendors such as Cisco, Arista, Juniper, and Mellanox.
  • Strong understanding of network security principles and best practices, including firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
  • Experience with network monitoring and management tools such as Nagios, Splunk, and Wireshark.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
