Where You'll Come In

As a Lead Data Engineer at Tensure, you will own the design and delivery of modern data platforms for our clients. This role combines hands-on architecture, technical leadership, and cross-functional collaboration.

You’ll guide data strategy, mentor engineers, shape best practices, and ensure scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions — particularly within Microsoft Fabric and Azure ecosystems.

This is a leadership role for someone who can think strategically while still rolling up their sleeves when needed.


What you'll do

  • Architect and lead the implementation of modern data platforms and analytics solutions
  • Design scalable ETL/ELT frameworks and oversee data pipeline development
  • Own solution architecture within Microsoft Fabric, including Lakehouse design, Data Factory pipelines, Dataflows Gen2, and Power BI integration
  • Establish data modeling standards and performance optimization strategies
  • Lead technical discussions with clients and internal stakeholders
  • Mentor and guide junior and mid-level data engineers
  • Define and improve data governance, security, and quality standards
  • Partner with engineering, product, and business teams to align data architecture with business outcomes
  • Drive automation and CI/CD practices across the data lifecycle
  • Evaluate and introduce emerging technologies where appropriate

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in data engineering or analytics engineering roles
  • Proven experience leading data projects and mentoring engineers
  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric (Lakehouse architecture, Data Factory, Dataflows Gen2, Power BI, OneLake)
  • Expertise in SQL and advanced data modeling
  • Strong Python skills for data transformation and automation
  • Experience with orchestration tools (Apache Airflow or equivalent)
  • Experience in Azure cloud environments (preferred)
  • Strong understanding of data governance, security, and best practices
  • Experience working in consulting or client-facing environments is a plus
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment
