Terra Remote Sensing Inc. is an international mapping company specializing in the acquisition, analyses, and production of spatial data. We offer world-class expertise in digital airborne mapping, hydrographic charting, marine geophysics, and geomatics support services. 

Position Overview:

Terra is seeking bright and eager Geomatics Mapping Technicians to join the CAD GIS production team to assist with the processing of aerial remote sensing TL data. Full training will be provided. Candidates should be able to work evening and weekend shifts if needed. Internal applicants are welcome to apply.

Responsibilities:

Working closely with the Team Lead and reporting to the Supervisor, the successful candidate is responsible for:

• Producing CAD drawings using Bentley OpenCities Map, Terrasolid, in-house custom tools, and various data types (lidar, ortho, etc.) Tasks include:
• • Capturing 3D planimetry in accordance with client provided feature specifications.
  • Performing breakline extraction and digitizing roads, buildings, roadside features and other features as required.
  • Processing lidar data, including ground and default classification editing and noise removal.
• Following established standard operating procedures and directives to ensure adherence to company processes and policies.
• Assisting with product deliverables by meeting client specific requirements and standards.
• • Such as using AutoCAD.
• Communicating effectively with the GIS team, other technical staff, and project managers to ensure clear understanding of product expectations and consistent, on time delivery.
• Participating in ongoing research and development activities as assigned.
• Contributing to the creation and enhancement of workflow tools aimed at improving production efficiency.
• Providing support for other GIS related deliverables as needed.
• • Assist the TL unit within the GIS team as workloads require.

Job Requirements

·         Ability to use an organized and methodical approach to work efficiently with multiple formats of uniform data simultaneously; strong attention to detail and a natural technical aptitude.

·         High working proficiency in a Windows environment.

·         Familiarity with key bindings to enhance computer usage efficiency.

·         Proven aptitude for working in a 3D environment and/or experience with 3D point clouds (an asset).

·         Experience with specialized software such as Bentley OpenCities Map, Terrasolid, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and ESRI ArcGIS (considered assets).

·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

·         Effective time management skills to plan and maintain project schedules.

·         Self‑starter, able to work independently or within a collaborative team environment with minimal supervision.
