Position Overview:

 

It’s an exciting time in the world of technology and for Terra Remote Sensing to be adding the new position of Technical Writer to the team. Our ideal candidate is someone who is a self-starter and gets excited (and can get others excited) about AI, automation and how technology can foster efficiencies to transform business processes.

 

The primary responsibility of this role is the understanding and management of the Scientific Research and Educational Development (SRED) program for TRSI, and its reporting requirements.

In addition, this role is the go-to technical content curator. Our hire will know and can show the best ways to capture and assemble subject matter using AI for new and existing internal documents as well as client RFP, marketing materials, reports and presentations.  Our successful candidate is a collaborator and will work closely with sr. management, project  managers, developers, supervisors, and internal technical specialists to understand business needs.


Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:

·         supporting templates and in-house writing for client reports/ materials (templates, data samples, proposals, SOPs, presentations), creating a consistent tone and brand,

·         maintaining templates and technical contents current with latest technology, licenses, etc.

·         seek and address feedback with the goal of filling content gaps and continually improving internal efficiencies through technology,

·         Optimize the quality of Terra’s technical writing to find efficiencies using latest technology, such as AI models

·         staying attuned to the market on AI and tool developments to automate repetitive tasks.

 

 

Job Requirements

We are looking for someone who:

·         has experience with the Scientific Research and Educational Development (SRED) program and CRA requirements.

·         has 2-4 years of experience working in a position that has transferable skills and/or has been building up the skills for this type of role.

·         has a bachelor's degree in a related study.

·         can demonstrate best practices for AI reporting optimization.

·         has demonstrated experience creating and following processes to maintain a balance between automation and human oversight.

·         is fluent in English (native or bilingual level) with proven excellent writing and grammar skills.

·         has strong research and fact-checking skills to ensure accuracy and originality experience.

·         has a known curiosity with AI and its use to automate time-consuming tasks.

·         can use scripting languages to automat tasks
is familiar with HTML and JavaScript for web-based publishing

·         is known for excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

·         can translate technical concepts into business value.

Job Classification


Location:

Mills Rd, North Saanich.  This role may be eligible for hybrid work or remote work according to the Remote Work/ Work from Home policy

 

Job type:
Full-time 40 hours per week,

Full benefits with medical, dental and vision. Paid sick and vacation days, wellness account and education reimbursement funding

 

Wage:  $72,800 to $80,100 per annum.  This position is eligible for overtime
