Our mission is to stabilize Earth’s climate by transforming nature’s most powerful permanent carbon removal process into a global climate solution. By advancing science, building technology, and assembling a global coalition, we are catalyzing a global initiative to scale Enhanced Rock Weathering within the next decade, starting in Brazil.

Founded out of the Stanford University ecosystem, Terradot is led by the world’s leading experts to advance the science and technology of ERW. Our unique structure bridges industry, academia, and government and allows our team to contribute with speed & scale. We are backed byJohn Doerr, Sheryl Sandberg & Tom Bernthal, George Roberts, Microsoft’s Climate Innovation Fund, Google, Cisco and Venture Funds, Floodgate, Kleiner Perkins, Acre Venture Partners, Gigascale Capital, Valor Capital, Ponderosa Ventures and others.

All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law. Research suggests that qualified people from historically marginalized groups may self-select out of opportunities if they don't meet 100% of the job requirements. We encourage individuals who believe they have the skills necessary to thrive to apply for this role.

About the role:

  • As Head of Farmer Engagement, you will design and lead Terradot’s farmer strategy in Brazil, building the foundation that enables scalable ERW deployment.
  • Your first mandate is to define and continuously refine Terradot’s farmer value proposition — translating Enhanced Rock Weathering into clear economic, agronomic, and long-term benefits for different producer profiles and production systems.
  • You will segment priority farmer groups (by crop, region, farm size, operational model, and proximity to rock supply) and develop targeted acquisition strategies for each segment.
  • Based on this segmentation, you will design and execute a multi-channel land acquisition strategy, activating partnerships and direct outreach across cooperatives, agro-industries, large landowners, producer associations, consultants, and regional networks.
  • You will be accountable for building a scalable land pipeline and securing the hectares required for deployment, leading a field-focused team responsible for land sourcing and long-term farmer relationships.
  • This role combines strategic thinking with hands-on execution and carries clear quantitative targets for hectares secured and deployed. It reports directly to the VP of Operations and is critical to Terradot’s scale-up in Brazil.

Key Responsibilities:

Farmer Strategy & Value Proposition Design:

  • Define and continuously refine Terradot’s farmer value proposition in Brazil, ensuring ERW is translated into clear economic, agronomic, and long-term benefits for different producer segments. Segment priority farmers by crop, geography, operational model, and proximity to rock supply, and tailor differentiated engagement approaches accordingly.

Land Acquisition Strategy & Hectare Accountability:

  • Design and execute a scalable, multi-channel land acquisition strategy to secure the hectares required for ERW deployment. Own quarterly and annual hectare targets, build and manage a structured land pipeline, and lead negotiation and agreement processes with farmers and landowners.

Farmer Acquisition Channels & Partnerships:

  • Activate and manage high-impact acquisition channels, including cooperatives, agro-industries, large landowners, producer associations, consultants, and regional networks. Develop strategic partnerships that accelerate farmer access, improve conversion rates, and reduce acquisition cost and time-to-deployment.

Long-Term Farmer Engagement & Retention:

  • Ensure strong, trust-based relationships throughout the full project lifecycle, from onboarding through multi-year carbon credit phases. Establish structured communication and engagement models to drive farmer satisfaction, retention, and operational alignment during deployment.

Leadership, KPIs & Cross-Functional Alignment:

  • Lead and develop Land Sourcing and Farmer Relations teams with clear performance targets and reporting cadence. Establish measurable KPIs for pipeline health and conversion. Work closely with Operations, Science, MRV, Legal, and Commercial teams to ensure deployment readiness and execution quality.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in agriculture, agribusiness, rural partnerships, land acquisition, or related areas.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and owning farm or farmer value propositions, translating technical or scientific solutions into clear, farmer-relevant narratives.
  • Deep understanding of Brazilian agricultural systems, farm economics, and producer decision-making.
  • Hands-on experience with key Brazilian crops and systems such as soybean, maize, sugarcane, pasture (livestock systems), and citrus.
  • Demonstrated success securing land partnerships or building long-term farm engagement initiatives.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Fluency in English, with the ability to work effectively with global, cross-functional teams.
  • Willingness to travel frequently across agricultural regions in Brazil.
  • Comfort operating in a dynamic, fast-scaling, mission-driven environment.
