About the Role

The Personal Lines Insurance Account Specialist provides administrative and client service support to the Personal Lines team by assisting with insurance account servicing and policy administration. This position reports to the Service Manager and works closely with the Personal Lines Service Team and Account Managers.


This role plays an important part in supporting the agency’s operations by assisting with policy servicing, processing policy changes, supporting claims inquiries, and ensuring accurate documentation of client accounts while maintaining a high level of customer service.


What Success Looks Like in This Role

  • Providing responsive and professional support to clients by assisting with policy inquiries, updates, and service requests.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date policy documentation, client records, and system information in accordance with agency and carrier guidelines.
  • Supporting Account Managers and team members by completing administrative tasks efficiently and ensuring timely processing of policy changes and renewals.
  • Assisting clients through basic claims inquiries and coordinating with carriers to help ensure a smooth claims process.
  • Contributing to a positive client experience by responding promptly, communicating clearly, and maintaining attention to detail in all service activities.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities


  • Assist clients with routine inquiries, basic policy updates, and general account servicing requests.
  • Respond to client communications via phone, email, or in-person to provide policy information or resolve service-related questions.
  • Process policy changes, renewals, endorsements, and cancellations by coordinating with insurance carriers and updating internal systems.
  • Review policy documentation and client information to ensure accuracy and compliance with agency and regulatory standards.
  • Assist clients during the claims process by providing guidance on claims filing and coordinating communication between clients and insurance carriers.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, policy details, and supporting documentation in the agency management system.
  • Support Account Managers and team members with administrative tasks including preparing policy quotes, documentation, and client correspondence.
  • Assist with gathering necessary information for underwriting or policy servicing and ensuring all required documentation is properly completed.
  • Work effectively in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities and maintaining a high level of service and accuracy.

Skills and Attributes


  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to respond to client inquiries promptly and professionally.
  • Excellent attention to detail to ensure policy accuracy, documentation completeness, and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively explain policy information and assist clients.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Ability to work effectively with agency management systems such as Applied Epic, AMS360, or similar CRM platforms, along with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to assist clients and coordinate with carriers to resolve policy or claims-related inquiries.
  • Working knowledge of personal lines insurance products including homeowners, auto, renters, and umbrella coverage.
  • Ability to collaborate with Account Managers, carriers, and internal team members to support client needs and agency operations.


Education


  • An associate degree or bachelor’s degree in business, finance, insurance, or a related field is preferred.
  • Equivalent professional experience in the insurance industry may be considered in place of formal education.


Experience


  • A minimum of 1 year of experience working in an independent insurance agency or 3 years of experience in a captive insurance agency environment is preferred.
  • Experience servicing personal lines insurance policies such as homeowners, auto, or umbrella coverage.


Certificates, Licenses, and/or Specialized Requirements


  • An active and valid Property and Casualty Insurance License is required. Texas License is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of personal lines insurance products and agency servicing procedures is preferred.

Standard business hours at Artemis Insurance are typically Monday through Friday; however, schedules may vary by department, office location, or operational requirements. Specific work arrangements, schedules, and location expectations will be discussed during the interview process.
