About the role

As a Sales Consultant for Texicare, you will work with agents and agencies in your territory to drive sales growth and customer satisfaction. You will be part of a dynamic and passionate team that is transforming the health insurance industry by offering innovative and affordable products and services to small businesses in Texas.

Your main responsibilities will include identifying and qualifying prospects, presenting, and selling Texicare products and services, and building and maintaining long-term relationships with agents and agencies. You will also work closely with the Sales & Agency Support team to ensure a smooth and seamless sales process and customer experience. You will report to the Sales Director. This is a remote position, based in Houston, Texas.

To excel in this role, you should be a results-oriented sales professional, with a customer-centric mindset and a passion for improving health insurance. You should also have a solid understanding of the health insurance industry and experience in selling insurance products to employers in an agent model.

In this role you will:

  • Recruit, appoint, onboard, and train agents and agencies to sell Texicare products and services
  • Generate and convert leads for new and existing agents and agencies in your territory
  • Create and deliver engaging training presentations to agencies and prospective employers
  • Partner with agencies to provide excellent service to their clients and achieve agency goals
  • Collaborate with the underwriting team to close new business opportunities
  • Manage sales activities and agency relationships within Salesforce CRM
  • Meet or exceed sales growth targets and performance metrics

To be successful in this role, you need to have:

  • 3+ years of experience in the health insurance industry
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
  • A customer-oriented, results-driven, and ethical mindset
  • Current health insurance license in Texas or ability to obtain within 30 days
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to travel within your territory 50% of the time
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or related field, or equivalent experience
