Introduction

We are looking for Aviation Electronics Technicians at all levels to perform routine inspections, repairs and alterations on a variety of aircraft.

We are looking for someone with exceptional character with experience on piston or jet aircraft. Citation and/or King Air experience is extremely helpful with experience in inspections. The Blackhawk Group offers competitive pay and outstanding benefits.

About the Roles

The Avionics Technician I is directly responsible to the Avionics Supervisor for the performance of the Aircraft Maintenance, Repair or Alteration.  

  • Perform avionics installations to include wire harness fabrication, aircraft wiring integration within assigned goal times.  
  • Read and interpret avionics wiring diagrams to complete assigned task within designated goal times.  
  • Fabrication of pitot / static hoses.  
  • Perform aircraft maintenance and or modifications as part of the BAT FAA Part 145 repair station.  
  • This shall include, but not be limited to items such as removal and installation of parts, interior panels and components, repair work or installation. 
  • Adhere to aircraft schedules and shop schedules prior to and during the performance of all repair station functions.  
  • Any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management. 
  • Maintain a supervisor evaluated goal hour productivity rating of 75% or higher.  
  • Demonstrate General Knowledge of FAA AC43.13-1B: 
    • Chapter 11 Aircraft Electrical Systems 
    • Chapter 12 Aircraft Avionics Systems 
    • Chapter 13 Human Factors 


Pay Range: $22-$30/ hour, depending on experience


The Avionics Technician II is directly responsible to the Avionics Supervisor for the performance of the Aircraft Maintenance, Repair or Alteration.  

  • Effectively perform all task outlined under Avionics Technician I as well as the following.  
  • Perform configuration of all newly installed avionics systems. within assigned goal times.  
  • Understand and perform the FAR 91.411 and 91.413 inspection to include effective troubleshooting of pitot / static systems.  
  • Perform aircraft avionics ground checks with little supervision (Pre-install/Post install) 
  • Perform minor structure modifications to include mounting of trays, installation of blind fasteners.  
  • Work independently on projects as assigned.   
  • Provide training to Avionics Tech 1’s. 
  • Effectively lead minor avionics projects to an on time and on goal hour completion. 
  • Maintain a supervisor evaluated goal hour productivity rating of 85% or higher .  
  • Demonstrate Thorough Knowledge of FAA AC43.13-1B:  
    • Chapter 11 Aircraft Electrical Systems 
    • Chapter 12 Aircraft Avionics Systems 
    • Chapter 13 Human Factors 
    • Demonstrate General knowledge of FAA AC43.13-1B:  
    • Chapter 7 Aircraft Hardware, Control Cables and Turnbuckles 

Pay Range: $28-$36/ hour, depending on experience  


The Avionics Technician III is directly responsible to the Avionics Supervisor for the performance of the Aircraft Maintenance, Repair or Alteration.


  • Effectively perform all task outlined under Avionics Technician I & II as well as the following.
  • Perform avionics installations to include troubleshooting and repairs of newly installed and existing avionics and airframe electrical systems within assigned goal times.
  • Perform aircraft test flights and in-air troubleshooting of avionics components.
  • Demonstrates ability to inspect wire installations with no supervision.
  • Demonstrates ability to perform aircraft avionics ground checks with no supervision (Pre-install/Post install)
  • Provide training to avionics Tech I & II’s
  • Effectively lead major avionics projects and assigned techs to an on time and on goal hour completion.
  • Provide schedule updates to the Avionics Supervisor and/or General Manager to ensure master schedule is accurate.
  • Maintain a supervisor evaluated goal hour productivity rating of 90% or higher .
  • Demonstrate Thorough knowledge of FAA AC43.13-1B:
    • Chapter 7 Aircraft Hardware, Control Cables, and Turnbuckles
    • Chapter 10 Weight and Balance
  • Demonstrate General knowledge of FAA AC43.13-1B:
    • Chapter 9 Aircraft Systems and Components
  • Education and Experience
    • Thorough knowledge of FARs 43, 91, 135, 145 with Quality system experience preferred
    • Minimum of three years avionics modifications experience required and or documented previous work experience fulfilling the primary duties.

Pay Range: $34-$44/hour, depending on experience 


All pay is negotiable, depending on experience
