Blackhawk Aerospace Technologies, LLC. is an FAA Certified Repair Station located in Columbia Missouri. Blackhawk Aerospace provides full avionics and airframe services for many types of aircraft from Cessna singles, King Air to Citation business jets.
Blackhawk Aerospace Technologies, LLC is seeking Service Structures Technician- all levels.
We are looking for someone with exceptional character with experience on piston or jet aircraft. Citation and/or King Air experience is extremely helpful.

The Service Structures Technician I is directly responsible to the Maintenance Supervisor for the performance of the Aircraft Maintenance, Repair or Alteration.
- The Service Structures Technician I will be required to understand, and practically apply basic sheet metal fundamentals to include proper use of hand tools and pneumatic tools, accurately interpret and read aircraft blueprints/modification drawings, coordinating necessary resources, accurately document work performed, and communicate with the appropriate personnel, including management, to ensure timely completion of quality structural repairs and modifications.
- Support the assigned aircraft Lead or other assigned BAT employees on all aspects of assigned aircraft structural projects to ensure safety, quality, and efficiency throughout all phases of the projects with limited oversight and direction.
- Understand and accurately navigate the AC 43.13
- Follow all policies, procedures and workmanship standards set forth in the Quality Control Manual for Blackhawk Aerospace Technologies and the AC 43.13.
- Ensure the safety and security of customer’s equipment, parts, and aircraft during all structural repair and modifications phases.
- Understand aircraft and shop schedules prior to and during the performance of all repair station functions and adhere to them.
- If required, assist aircraft maintenance and avionics personnel in the performance of inspection and repair duties so that work is accomplished on schedule and in accordance with applicable Federal Aviation Regulations and repair station procedures.
- Troubleshooting and evaluation of systems on the aircraft with limited oversight, when designated.
- Inspection and evaluation of the aircraft and components with limited oversight, when designated.
- Maintain a supervisor evaluated goal hour productivity rating of 80% or higher .
- Any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
Pay Range: $22- $30/hour, depending on experience
The Service Structures Technician II is directly responsible to the Maintenance Supervisor for the performance of the Aircraft Maintenance, Repair or Alteration.
- Fully understand and perform all duties and requirements set forth in the “Service Structures Technician I” Job Description without guidance or oversight.
- Perform standard structural modifications and repairs with limited oversight and zero rework.
- Demonstrate the ability to navigate and practically apply the AC 43.13 requirements without any oversight or direction.
- Perform delegated maintenance inspections and repairs with limited oversight.
- Design minor repairs and or alterations under guidance of Service Structure Tech III.
- Work independently on projects as assigned.
- Provide training to Service Structure Tech 1’s.
- Effectively lead minor structure projects to an on time and on goal hour completion.
- Provide schedule updates to the Aircraft Lead or assigned BAT employee to ensure master schedule is accurate.
- Maintain a supervisor evaluated goal hour productivity rating of 85% or higher .
- Interact and communicate with internal and external customers as delegated.
- Any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
Education and Experience
- High school graduate or equivalency degree required. FAA Airframe License Preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of FARs 43, 91, 135, 145 with Quality system experience preferred.
- Two to Five Years Corporate Aviation Experience with emphasis on Structural Repair and Modifications.
- Minimum of two years Aviation Structural Repair & Modifications experience required.
Pay Range: $28- $36/hour, depending on experience
The Service Structures Technician III is directly responsible to the Maintenance Supervisor for the performance of the Aircraft Maintenance, Repair or Alteration.
- Fully understand and perform all duties and requirements set forth in the “Service Structures Technician I” and the “Service Structures Technician II” Job Description without guidance or oversight.
- Perform complex structural modifications and repairs without oversight or rework.
- Communicate with internal customers, external customers and vendors as required.
- Provide feedback to the Maintenance Supervisor and/or the General Manager regarding performance issues and evaluations of the Structures Technicians of lesser experience and grade.
- Navigate and practically apply the AC 43.13 requirements without any oversight or direction.
- Perform delegated maintenance inspections and repairs without oversight.
- Design major repairs and or alterations along with effectively communicating with FAA DER, Engineering and Chief Inspector for FAA approval.
- Provide training to Service Structure Tech I & II’s
- Effectively lead major structure projects and assigned techs to an on time and on goal hour completion.
- Inspect Service Structure Tech I & II workmanship.
- Provide schedule updates to the Maintenance Supervisor and/or General Manager to ensure master schedule is accurate.
- Maintain a supervisor evaluated goal hour productivity rating of 90% or higher .
- Any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
SUPPORTING RESPONSIBILITIES
- Navigate and utilize EBis without oversight.
- Be a positive role model and mentor those individuals of lessor skill and experience in the application of safe work practices, B.A.T. policies and procedures, and acceptable/desired/expected workmanship and quality standards.
- Conduct oneself in a highly professional manner.
- Maintenance and repair of shop facility, equipment, and tooling when required to support operations.
- Inspection and evaluation of the aircraft and components when designated.
- Assist in the maintenance and periodic calibration of precision tools and test equipment used by the repair station when designated.
- Adhere to aircraft schedules and shop schedules prior to and during the performance of all repair station functions.
COORDINATING AND COMMUNICATING RESPONSIBILITIES
- Communicate on status and or discrepancies with aircraft in house to include hidden damage or unairworthy items.
- Make proper entries into maintenance logs & work orders.
- Attend department or company meetings and provide various updates as required.
Education and Experience
- High school graduate or equivalency degree required. FAA Airframe License Required
- Thorough knowledge of FARs 43, 91, 135, 145 with Quality system experience preferred.
- Five to Ten Years Corporate Aviation Experience with emphasis on Structural Repair and Modifications.
- Minimum of four years Aviation Structural Repair & Modifications experience required.
Pay Range: $34- $44/ hour, depending on experience
