Chief Inspector

Lead with Authority. Protect Airworthiness. Set the Standard.

At The Blackhawk Group, quality isn’t a checkpoint — it’s a promise. As we continue to grow our nationwide Performance Centers, we’re seeking a Chief Inspector who brings deep regulatory expertise, uncompromising integrity, and strong leadership to safeguard airworthiness and elevate our Part 145 Repair Station operations.

This is a senior, high-impact role for a proven aviation quality leader who thrives at the intersection of compliance, technical judgment, and people leadership. If you’re passionate about setting the bar for safety, precision, and regulatory excellence, this is your opportunity to lead from the front.

What You’ll Do

As the senior quality and regulatory authority for the Repair Station, you’ll own inspection strategy, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement across maintenance operations.

  • Own regulatory oversight & airworthiness decisions
Serve as the primary authority under 14 CFR Parts 43, 65, 91, and 145. Ensure all maintenance activities conform to approved data, FAA regulations, ADs, Service Bulletins, ICAs, and manufacturer requirements. Oversee maintenance releases, logbook entries, and FAA 8130-3 tags with confidence and precision.
  • Lead the inspection program
Direct all receiving, in-process, hidden-damage, and final inspections. Establish and maintain inspection standards, procedures, checklists, and methodologies that ensure consistency, compliance, and operational excellence. Manage non-conformances, rework, and corrective actions.
  • Champion the Quality Management System
Maintain and approve updates to the Repair Station Manual (RSM), Quality Control Manual (QCM), training programs, and capabilities list. Oversee document control, calibration, and records retention while driving continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Develop and lead the inspection team
Supervise, coach, and develop inspectors through training, performance feedback, and competency evaluations. Delegate effectively while maintaining oversight of complex or high-risk determinations. Recruit, onboard, and qualify new inspectors.
  • Drive root-cause analysis & corrective action
Lead investigations into quality escapes, audit findings, and customer concerns. Perform root-cause analysis and implement robust corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), supported by meaningful quality metrics and trend analysis.
  • Be the face of quality to the FAA and customers
Serve as the primary liaison with FAA PMI/PAI, coordinating audits, manual revisions, and compliance matters. Represent the Repair Station during customer and external audits with professionalism and credibility.
  • Collaborate across the business
Partner closely with Maintenance, Production, Engineering, Supply Chain, and senior leadership to align quality objectives with operational goals.
