Avionics Technician

If you’re an experienced Avionics Technician who enjoys hands-on technical work and solving complex aircraft electronics challenges, we invite you to join our team in Columbia, MO. In this role, you will support aircraft maintenance and upgrade operations by performing avionics troubleshooting, installations, inspections, and system repairs. You’ll work with a skilled team to ensure aircraft systems operate safely, efficiently, and in full regulatory compliance.

What You’ll Do

  • Perform avionics maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on a variety of aircraft systems
  • Support installations, upgrades, and modifications of avionics and electrical components
  • Conduct functional checks and system tests before and after installation work
  • Troubleshoot wiring, avionics components, and aircraft electrical systems
  • Read and interpret wiring diagrams, schematics, and technical manuals
  • Complete required documentation for maintenance actions and compliance items
  • Assist with inspections and system evaluations
  • Support ground checks and operational tests of avionics systems
  • Collaborate with maintenance and avionics leadership to meet project timelines
  • Follow all safety, quality, and regulatory standards

 

What You Bring to the Table

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum 3 years of avionics maintenance and installation experience
  • Hands-on experience performing avionics installations, modifications, and upgrades
  • Experience performing avionics or aircraft electrical troubleshooting and repairs
  • Working knowledge of common aircraft avionics and electrical systems
  • Ability to read and follow technical manuals and wiring schematics
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with FAA regulatory maintenance environments
  • Good documentation and recordkeeping practices
  • Willingness to work overtime and occasional weekends when needed
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safe work practices

Preferred Qualifications

  • Formal avionics or electronics training (technical school or associate degree)
  • Experience with turbine or business aircraft
  • Experience with modern integrated avionics systems
  • A&P license (helpful but not required)
  • Experience supporting major avionics upgrade projects
  • Thorough knowledge of FARs 43, 91, 135, and 145, with quality system experience preferred
