Blackhawk Aerospace Technologies, Inc. is an FAA Certified Repair Station. BAT provides full avionics and airframe services for many types of aircraft, from Cessna singles through medium size business jets.

We are seeking a Shop Assistant for our shop located at the Columbia Airport.


This position reports to the General Manager of the location. The Shop Assistant works closely with the service center and parts sales team.


Job Responsibilities

1. Review all permanently removed avionics and airframe parts for disposal or resale.

2. Assist with research and assign sell price to resale parts

3. Produce FAA 8130’s or FAA Status Tags for resale parts based upon pre inspection data

4. Input resale parts into EBis inventory along with FAA 8130’s

5. Place resale parts in correct bin locations along with FAA airworthiness documentation

6. Dispose of parts with no resale opportunity

7. Run inventory reports, modify contents and submit to part database search engines

8. Disposal or sale of stale inventory

9. Prepare STC paperwork, wiring diagrams and various other documents for upcoming avionics installations

10. Assist administrative staff with paperwork

11. Other duties as assigned


Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Aviation experience is not mandatory, but preference will be given to candidates with aviation repair shop experience
  • Excellent work ethic
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid drivers license
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills to effectively prioritize workload
  • Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Outlook)
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities & projects simultaneously
  • Ability to work independently
  • Must be able to pass a background and drug testing

Job Type: Full-time


Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour


Expected hours: 40 per week
