Purpose of the Role:
Dayton Vitality Hotel is seeking an experienced Director of Sales to drive revenue growth, maximize profitability, and enhance market positioning. This role requires a dynamic, results-driven leader with a proven track record in hospitality sales, business development, and team leadership. The Director of Sales will oversee all sales functions, lead the sales strategy, establish strategic partnerships, and implement initiatives to increase occupancy and revenue streams.
Responsibilities:
Duties and Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Corporate Director of Sales to develop and execute comprehensive sales strategies to drive revenue growth across all market segments, including corporate, group, leisure, and events.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with key clients, industry partners, and stakeholders to enhance the hotel’s competitive positioning.
- Identify new business opportunities and market trends to expand the hotel's customer base and revenue potential.
- Collaborate with leadership to create promotional campaigns, sales materials, and branding initiatives that align with business objectives.
- Oversee the negotiation and execution of contracts, ensuring favorable terms and compliance with company policies.
- Monitor and analyze sales performance data, providing regular reports and insights to senior management.
- Represent the hotel at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions to generate business leads.
- Work closely with the revenue management team to optimize pricing strategies and maximize occupancy.
- Ensure alignment between sales strategies and operational capabilities to deliver exceptional guest experiences.
Qualifications, Skills, Abilities and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Hospitality Management, Marketing, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive sales experience in the hospitality industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of the local market and a well-established network of industry contacts preferred.
- Proven ability to develop and implement successful sales strategies and drive revenue growth.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
- Experience with CRM systems, sales analytics, and digital marketing strategies.
- Ability to analyze market trends and data to make informed business decisions.
- Strong organizational and project management skills.
- Willingness to travel for industry events and client meetings as needed.
