Purpose of the Role:
Memphis Vitality Hotel is seeking an experienced Sales Manager to drive revenue growth and provide top-notch service for our catering and events clients. The ideal candidate will have a dynamic personality, a strategic approach to sales, and a passion for delivering memorable guest experiences. This role involves managing and coordinating all aspects of sales and catering activities, including site inspections, event planning, client relations, and operational oversight, to ensure successful outcomes for every event. The selected individual strives to continually improve guest satisfaction and hit targets to drive revenue outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with the Corporate Director of Sales to develop and implement sales strategies to generate new business for sleeping rooms, catering, and events.
- Participates in special promotions relating to direct sales segments
- Responds to all inquiries within a 24 hours period.
- Serves as on-site point of contact for sales and catering events and participates in onsite tours for prospective clients
- Consults with clients on menu selection, decor, and other event details.
- Builds and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring excellent service and satisfaction.
- Fosters client relationships and develops ideas of how to add additional value to client experience
- Produces accurate proposals and event details for full service events.
- Prepares and negotiates contracts in alignment with company policies and procedures.
- Manages and oversees all aspects of event planning, from initial proposal to final billing.
- Collaborates weekly with the hotel operations team to coordinate event logistics and ensure seamless execution.
- Provides weekly sales report that track sales and revenue metrics

- Knowledge and experience in sales catering
- Memphis area Market knowledge
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Office, Internet

Physical Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Business or related combined experience and training equivalent
- 3+ years of experience in sales or event management within the hospitality industry
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Able to multitask and prioritize daily workload autonomously
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of computer and software systems
- Able to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Able to work in person on-site at Memphis location

The pay range for this role is:
55,000 - 65,000 USD per year (Memphis Vitality Hotel)
