Regional Vice President of Operations

Purpose of the Role:

The Bright Hospitality Management is seeking a strategic and results-driven Regional Vice President of Operations to lead and oversee the operational performance of a portfolio of hotels within a defined region. This individual will be responsible for driving revenue growth, ensuring operational excellence, maintaining brand standards, and fostering a culture of guest-centric service and team development. The ideal candidate brings a strong background in hotel operations, brand positioning, and team leadership at a regional level.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for multiple hotel properties within the assigned region. 
  • Partner with property-level leadership to deliver best-in-class guest experiences, operational efficiency, and financial performance. 
  • Lead efforts to optimize revenue, profitability, and service quality, in alignment with brand standards and company goals. 
  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Revenue Management, and HR teams to develop and implement property-level strategies. 
  • Monitor and evaluate property performance through regular site visits, performance reviews, and analysis of key metrics (ADR, RevPAR, GOP, etc.). 
  • Drive talent development by mentoring General Managers, supporting succession planning, and ensuring team alignment with company values. 
  • Support the opening and integration of new properties in the region as needed. 
  • Ensure compliance with safety, legal, and brand standards across all operations. 
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiencies across properties. 
  • Maintain strong relationships with ownership groups, vendors, and internal stakeholders. 

Qualifications, Skills, Abilities and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred). 
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in hotel/hospitality operations, including multi-property oversight. 
  • Proven success in managing hotel operations across various service levels (select, full-service, lifestyle, luxury). 
  • Deep understanding of hotel financials, forecasting, budgeting, and operational reporting. 
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and inspire teams. 
  • Demonstrated ability to drive operational improvements, guest satisfaction, and revenue growth. 
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills. 
  • Willingness to travel extensively within the region. 
  • Experience working with branded and independent hotels, preferred. 
  • Familiarity with brand standards and systems (e.g., Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt, IHG, etc.), preferred. 
  • Knowledge of hospitality technology platforms (PMS, POS, CRM, etc.), preferred. 
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, preferred. 
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a remote-first approach to collaboration, preferred.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in hotel operations, with at least 5 years in a multi-unit or regional leadership role. 
  • Proven track record of managing operational performance and achieving financial targets across multiple hotel properties. 
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels. 
  • Deep understanding of hotel metrics, including ADR, RevPAR, occupancy, and GOP. 
  • Ability to analyze complex data, identify trends, and implement strategic solutions. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with industry-standard hospitality systems. 
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to travel freely within the region (and occasionally outside the region, if needed).

Schedule / Travel Requirements:

  • Regular business hours with availability for occasional evening or weekend meetings, depending on operational needs. 
  • Approximately 50–70% travel, including regular site visits to properties within the assigned region, attendance at corporate meetings, and industry events as necessary
