Purpose of the Role:

Marietta Vitality Hotel is seeking a dynamic, results-oriented Director of Sales & Marketing to lead all sales and marketing efforts, driving revenue growth, brand visibility, and guest engagement. This role blends strategic sales leadership with hands-on marketing execution, and is ideal for a leader who excels in both relationship-building and creative promotion. In addition to traditional sales responsibilities, this role includes direct oversight and implementation of local marketing initiatives designed to drive awareness and maximize occupancy. 


Responsibilities:

Sales Strategy & Business Development 

  • Collaborate with corporate staff to develop and execute a comprehensive sales plan that targets key segments: corporate, group, leisure, and event business. 
  • Identify new business opportunities through direct sales, networking, inbound inquiries, and community engagement. 
  • Oversee negotiation and execution of all client contracts in alignment with company guidelines and revenue goals. 
  • Maintain strong relationships with key clients, travel partners, and local organizations to drive repeat and referral business. 
  • Align sales strategies with revenue management to maximize RevPAR and optimize group/room rate mix. 

Marketing Execution & Brand Activation 

  • Design, implement, and manage on-property marketing efforts including promotional flyers, seasonal campaigns, and branded activations. 
  • Ensure the hotel is accurately and compellingly represented on all third-party platforms (e.g., OTA listings, CVB, tourism websites, venue directories). 
  • Coordinate with the Corporate Marketing team to adapt national brand initiatives to the local market. 
  • Oversee the creation of digital and printed sales collateral, property-specific promotions, and group marketing materials. 
  • Maintain marketing calendars, execute local e-blasts, and monitor engagement metrics with the support of internal or external partners. 

Team Training & Marketing Support 

  • Train and support on-property teams in brand presentation, promotional materials, and marketing basics (flyer creation, social media content, etc.). 
  • Serve as the point person for coordinating hotel participation in community events, partnerships, and local sponsorships. 
  • Guide junior sales or front office staff on upselling strategies, brand standards, and local marketing activations. 

Performance Tracking & Reporting 

  • Monitor and analyze sales and marketing performance; prepare weekly and monthly reports outlining KPI progress, event ROI, and market trends. 
  • Track campaign effectiveness and adjust strategies as needed to ensure revenue and visibility goals are met. 

Qualifications, Skills, Abilities and Experience:


Sales & Marketing Expertise 

  • Proven track record in developing and executing integrated sales and marketing strategies that drive revenue and brand visibility. 
  • In-depth understanding of the hospitality landscape, with experience in the local property market or a comparable region. 
  • Strong background in lead generation, prospecting, closing deals, and building long-term client relationships. 
  • Working knowledge of local marketing tactics, including print collateral, digital outreach, social media engagement, and tourism partnerships. 

 

Communication & Leadership 

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to tailor messaging to diverse audiences. 
  • Confident presenter and persuasive negotiator, skilled in client-facing and internal communications. 
  • Inspiring and supportive leader who trains, motivates, and collaborates effectively with cross-functional teams. 

 

Technical Proficiency 

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM platforms such as Delphi, Salesforce, or similar tools. 
  • Experience with content creation platforms like Canva and familiarity with digital marketing workflows. 
  • Skilled in managing third-party booking engines, online listings, and social media content calendars; able to liaise with marketing vendors as needed. 

 

Organizational & Project Management Skills

  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, campaigns, and partnerships concurrently.
  • Detail-oriented with strong time management and prioritization capabilities in fast-paced environments.


Physical Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Hospitality Management, Marketing, or a related field preferred. 
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive sales experience in the hospitality industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership role. 
  • Experience with CRM systems, sales analytics, and digital marketing strategies. 
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills. 
  • Proven ability to develop and implement successful sales strategies and drive revenue growth.
