About the role

The FP&A Analyst is an important contributor to the Finance team at The Channel Company (TCC), supporting financial planning, budgeting, and reporting functions. This role is ideal for someone who is eager to continue to develop their analytical skills, gain hands-on experience with financial systems, and work in a dynamic, collaborative environment.


What you'll do

  • Support the budgeting and forecasting processes by gathering data, building models, and coordinating inputs from multiple departments.
  • Assist in monthly financial reporting, including variance analysis, trend reporting, and performance tracking against budget.
  • Help maintain and enhance reporting tools, including Excel models and dashboards.
  • Assist with the implementation and ongoing enhancement of budgeting/reporting systems (e.g., NetSuite or similar tools).
  • Partner with business units to collect and analyze financial and operational data.
  • Prepare and present recurring and ad hoc reports to finance leadership and department heads.
  • Support the development of KPIs and dashboards that provide insight into business performance.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects and support continuous improvement initiatives in finance operations.
  • Participate in finance team meetings, cross-departmental initiatives, and process improvement projects.
  • Perform ad hoc analysis and financial modeling as needed to support decision-making.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in a finance, accounting, or business analyst role
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Strong Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, basic modeling).
  • Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated and willing to learn in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Experience or familiarity with NetSuite and Salesforce is a plus.
  • Exposure to marketing, media, or services-based business models is a plus.
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.
