The Medical Billing Specialist is responsible for timely and accurate follow-up on insurance claims and patient balances to ensure maximum reimbursement. This role requires strong attention to detail, professionalism in patient communications, and a solid understanding of insurance processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and follow up on outstanding insurance claims, denials, and patient balances.
• Communicate with insurance companies to resolve claim rejections and discrepancies.
• Process claim appeals and corrections in accordance with payer requirements.
• Provide excellent customer service when assisting patients with billing inquiries and balances.
• Document account activity clearly and accurately in the billing system.
• Collaborate with the billing lead and follow-up team to meet productivity and collection goals.
• Maintain confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA standards at all times.
• And other duties as needed.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience in medical billing or AR follow-up, preferably in a dermatology or specialty practices.
• Strong understanding of EOBs, claim statuses, and insurance follow-up processes.
• Experience with eClinicalWorks and clearinghouses such as TriZetto preferred.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Strong commitment to accuracy, efficiency, and teamwork.

Compensation:
