The Credentialing Specialist plays a vital role in supporting the provider onboarding and enrollment process at The Dermatology Specialists. This position ensures all credentialing and re-credentialing documentation is completed accurately and submitted in a timely manner to maintain compliance and support billing readiness.

You’ll work closely with providers, payers, and internal teams to make sure every new hire or renewing provider is properly credentialed with Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial insurance plans, helping keep our clinics running smoothly and efficiently.


We are the fastest growing Dermatology practice in the North East with 50+ locations thus far, throughout 4 New York City boroughs, Delaware, and Pennsylvania.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and submit applications for new provider credentialing and re-credentialing.
  • Verify and maintain provider credentials including medical licenses, board certifications, DEA registrations, and malpractice coverage.
  • Maintain provider profiles in CAQH, NPPES, and payer portals.
  • Track and monitor application status, following up with payers and providers as needed.
  • Maintain organized digital and paper credentialing files with all supporting documents.
  • Communicate professionally with providers to obtain missing information or signatures.
  • Collaborate with the billing department to ensure provider activation aligns with billing readiness.
  • Support the Credentialing Specialist Lead with audits, compliance checks, and reporting.

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of experience in healthcare credentialing or a related administrative role.
  • Working knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial payer enrollment processes.
  • Familiarity with CAQH, NPPES, and credentialing systems.
  • Excellent organization, follow-up, and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Proficiency in Excel and general computer literacy; experience with
