The Housekeeping Manager at The Manchester ensures that the daily duties of the housekeeping team are completed at the highest standards of cleanliness and guest comfort. The HSK Manager will be reporting directly to the General Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Promotes a safe environment and quality service to achieve maximum guest satisfaction, protection of assets, using minimal expenses to maximize profits.
- Supervises the housekeeping staff via providing open communication, remote training where needed, coaching and counseling and provides performance feedback to ensure maximum efficiency.
- Supervises and inspects the cleaning of the guest rooms, turndown service, public areas and back of the house.
- Ensures compliance with accident/loss prevention programs, SOP's, health/sanitation standards and regulations to achieve a high level of cleanliness and guest satisfaction.
- Issues assignments to staff.
- Issues supplies/goods to staff at the beginning of shift.
- Helps the General Manager control inventory and ensure proper supplies are available while watching expenses.
- Responds to guest requests, concerns and problems to ensure guest satisfaction, work with Front Desk and Engineering staff as necessary.
- Logs items into Lost and Found to maintain control and ensure guest satisfaction.
- Implement emergency training and procedures with approval of the Housekeeping Manager to ensure appropriate protection of the hotel, guests, staff and company assets.
- Assists the evening staff in the performance of duties including the cleaning of the lobby and turndown service.
- Monitors and maintains inventory of linens, cleaning supplies, and mini bar items.
- Assist the General Manager with maintaining the department checkbook when necessary.
- Must be able to open, close, or work any shift, especially during special events.
- Professionally and efficiently uses 2-way radio to communicate with housekeeping staff and other departments across property where needed.
Qualifications:
- Work experience as a Housekeeping Supervisor or similar role.
- Hands-on experience with cleaning and maintenance tasks for large organizations.
- Ability to use industrial cleaning equipment and products.
- Excellent organizational and team management skills.
- Stamina to handle the physical demands of the job.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.
- High school diploma is required.
