The Manchester Hotel
Kentucky poet Wendell Berry once said of his home soil, “What I stand for is
what I stand on.” The Manchester follows suit — a handsome monument built to Lexington Kentucky’s unbridled enthusiasm, warm Southern light, and full-galloped feeling.
General Purpose: The Busser clears used and dirty plates, glasses, etc., from Lost Palm and ensures the cleanliness of tables in a timely manner. The Busser performs other duties as assigned by managers and kitchen leadership.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Clears all dirty glasses, wastepaper, napkins, plates, silverware, and bowls from the customer during the meal.
- Keeps all silverware stocked and rolled.
- Retrieves clean glasses and plates from the dishwashing area and stores and restocks in the appropriate places.
- Wipes all tables (when appropriate) and seats after clearing the table and checks the floor for crumbs.
- Assists the servers/runners/bartenders in any task that they ask.
- Cleans and resets all tables after the guest leaves.
- Understands role within the steps of service.
- Polishes silverware.
- Completes all side work as outlined by the Lost Palm GM and Manager.
- Reports to work on time and ready to work scheduled shifts.
- Maintains a positive, friendly attitude with co-workers & guests.
- Maintains a clean, orderly appearance in the restaurant service area.
- Assists with/executes any tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
- Follows all proper sanitation guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Able to work flexible hours (nights, weekends).
- Attention to detail/the ability to anticipate problems and create solutions.
- Responsible, dependable, punctual.
- Clean and professional appearance.
- Demonstrates enthusiasm for all things Lost Palm and The Manchester.
Education/Formal Training:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds.
