Position Overview

The Global Partnership Director leads the strategy, cultivation, and management of international partnerships to expand the reach and impact of The Tech’s STEM learning products and services. This role is responsible for building and sustaining high-value relationships with governments, NGOs, corporations, and educational institutions globally, with a focus on increasing access for learners from low-income and historically marginalized communities. The Global Partnership Director works closely with internal teams across learning products, R&D, and operations to ensure alignment and successful delivery of international initiatives. This exempt role reports to the Vice President of Programs.

Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Define and execute a global partnership strategy aligned with The Tech’s mission and vision.
  • Identify opportunities for scaling learning products and programs internationally.
  • Build and maintain relationships with senior-level stakeholders across corporate, government, philanthropic, and educational sectors.
  • Monitor international trends in STEM education, workforce development, and global philanthropy to inform strategy.


Partnership Development and Stewardship

  • Lead outreach, cultivation, and negotiation with prospective global partners.
  • Design partnership agreements and models that are sustainable, scalable, and mutually beneficial.
  • Oversee relationship management to ensure long-term partner satisfaction and engagement.
  • Collaborate with fundraising and marketing teams to develop compelling partnership proposals and campaigns.


Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work with product, R&D, and learning teams to adapt and scale STEM products for international contexts.
  • Partner with finance and operations to establish budgets, contracts, and compliance for global initiatives.
  • Coordinate with marketing and communications to amplify global partnership stories and impact.
  • Support alignment between global partnerships and domestic programming priorities.


Operational Excellence

  • Manage international project portfolios, including budgets, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Establish and track metrics to evaluate partnership success and impact on learners.
  • Ensure adherence to international standards and compliance requirements, including equity, diversity, and accessibility.
  • Provide regular updates and strategic recommendations to executive leadership and the Board.

Requirements and Skills

  • 10+ years of experience in partnership development, business development, or international relations (experience in education, nonprofit, or edtech sectors strongly preferred).
  • Proven track record of cultivating and managing high-level partnerships with corporations, governments, and NGOs.
    Strong strategic thinking and ability to translate vision into actionable plans.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills across diverse cultural contexts.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects.
  • Understanding of global education systems, workforce development, and equity in STEM.
  • Familiarity with funding models, philanthropy, and impact measurement frameworks.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in International Relations, Business, Education, or related field preferred.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and to expanding access for learners historically excluded from STEM.


Working Conditions and Schedule

  • The schedule may include evening or weekend work to accommodate international time zones and program needs.
  • This is an on-site role with flexibility for remote or hybrid work depending on business needs.
  • International and domestic travel up to 30%.

The pay range for this role is:

100,000 - 123,000 USD per year (The Tech Interactive)
