About the role


We're seeking an experienced Paralegal with a strong entertainment law background to join our growing team. This role is ideal for someone who loves the startup pace, can wear multiple hats, and wants to help build legal infrastructure while supporting day-to-day operations. You'll work directly with leadership and outside counsel on everything from production agreements to intellectual property matters.


Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, review, and negotiate entertainment industry contracts including talent agreements, producer deals, licensing agreements, option agreements, and production-related contracts
  • Manage intellectual property matters including trademark filings, copyright registrations, and clearance processes
  • Coordinate with outside counsel on complex transactions and litigation matters
  • Conduct legal research on entertainment law issues, rights clearances, and regulatory compliance
  • Maintain contract management systems and legal databases 
  • Support corporate governance matters including board meetings, equity matters, and corporate filings
  • Handle vendor agreements, NDAs, and general commercial contracts
  • Manage legal budgets and outside counsel relationships
  • Create templates, playbooks, and processes to scale legal operations efficiently

Qualifications

  • 3-5+ years of paralegal experience with significant entertainment law exposure (film, television, animation, or content production)
  • Bachelor's degree; ABA-approved Paralegal Certificate
  • Deep familiarity with entertainment industry contracts and deal structures
  • Experience with intellectual property processes (clearances, registrations, licensing)
  • Proficiency with contract management systems and legal research tools
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, Airtable, and Slack
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Strong business judgment and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment
  • Must exercise absolute discretion regarding confidential client and project information.
  • Self-starter mentality with ability to work independently and build systems from scratch
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

NICE TO HAVE

  • Experience at an entertainment startup or early-stage company
  • Background in animation, family entertainment, or faith-based content
  • Familiarity with production legal matters and guild agreements
  • Experience with corporate transactions (M&A, financing, partnerships)
  • Working knowledge of privacy laws and data protection regulations
  • Skills with productivity tools like Notion, Airtable, or project management platforms

Salary & Benefits:

Salary Range: $90K - $105K
