About the Role


The  Vice President, Film Marketing will build and lead Wonder’s marketing strategy for the company’s film slate. You will collaborate with filmmakers, talent, agencies as well as internal and external partners to drive awareness of and build viewership for Wonder’s films across every distribution channel. You will work closely with multiple marketing teams, including performance, community/social media, PR, creative, faith and partnerships, to develop campaigns across online and offline consumer touchpoints. With a track record of bringing audiences to theatrical releases, you know how to optimize both traditional and innovative marketing strategies and tactics to drive success. You excel in analytical, data-driven decision-making, but are also tapped into your creative side, and you share an authentic connection with Wonder’s heartland audience. Day to Day


  • Build our film marketing strategy, processes and infrastructure, tapping into both your considerable experience and your entrepreneurial mindset to establish best practices
  • Develop an overall approach for our slate that tells a story about the Wonder brand and highlights the unique differentiators that will attract viewers
  • Spearhead campaigns for each release, creating a memorable, distinct identity for each film that still fits in with and complements Wonder’s overall brand identity and slate 
  • Collaborate with filmmakers and creative agencies, develop marketing that will inspire and galvanize audiences to come watch our films in theater and on ancillary channels
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with the external partners involved in producing and releasing Wonder movies, creating real collaboration that infuses campaigns with Wonder and each film’s distinct brand voice 
  • Use market research and analytics to translate data and insights into actionable, effective marketing tactics
  • Leverage and collaborate with paid media, PR, social media, lifecycle, faith marketing and partnerships, along with external agencies, to build and execute campaigns
  • Own budgets. Allocate resources cost-effectively, track expenditures and measure actual costs against forecast
  • Own revenue targets. Forecast and measure marketing campaigns’ success, including both directly attributable and halo effects, in driving viewership and revenue 


The Ideal Candidate


  • Has 8-10+ years of experience in film marketing, with at least 3 in senior leadership roles
  • Has a deep understanding of the entertainment ecosystem, including content production, distribution, marketing and audience engagement
  • Has demonstrated success in marketing films, developing online and offline campaigns, with a history of delivering revenue and audiences that exceed expectations
  • Has strong experience leading large-scale marketing campaigns across multiple channels, online and offline, owning budgets and managing teams, with a focus on the performance marketing and social media tactics that successfully drive ticket sales
  • Has designed and/or managed P&A budgets in the past 
  • Has outstanding communication and relationship-building skills. Can comfortably navigate between film talent, business executives and faith audiences, respectfully and with ease
  • Is both a creative thinker and a business-minded problem solver who can pivot from developing never-before-seen marketing activations to analyzing campaign performance at a moment’s notice
  • Demonstrates excellent leadership skills including strategic thinking, analytical ability, organization, project management, collaboration, team management and team-building
  • Thrives in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment. A nimble thinker who can adapt and innovate, and who recognizes and can capitalize on opportunities quickly
  • Has experience marketing faith-based content – a plus


Salary & Benefits


Salary Range: $175K - $210K
