People Operations Generalist

We’re excited to add a People Operations Generalist to our People Team. This role will be heavily involved in all things that make it possible for our people to grow and succeed with TheGuarantors.  Reporting to the VP People, you will have the opportunity to learn and grow while providing front-line support to drive the success of key People initiatives. You will be a trusted member of the People team and instrumental in driving efficiency, organization, and compliance in your day-to-day support. This role requires some office management tasks, ensuring the day to day operations of the office are running efficiently. 


This role will be based in NYC, with 3 days in office at 1 World Trade Center. 


Responsibilities

  • People Operations

  • Partner with various internal stakeholders to execute new hire onboarding, including supporting the hiring team and IT to ensure each new hire onboarding runs smoothly, including pre-onboarding actions, equipment set up, first day/week agenda and training programs.

  • Ownership of the off boarding process, including exit interviews, HRIS updates, coordinating with IT, and separation letters where applicable

  • Assist in coordinating team and cross-team initiatives to build out our culture of performance.

  • Implement strategies to consistently improve employee retention and workplace culture

  • Ensure employees understand their benefit plans - interfacing with the broker and the employees to keep records maintained.

  • Review, track, and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, and aptitude exams and certifications.

  • Maintain our internal HRIS with the utmost level of data integrity and confidentiality.

  • Manage compliance efforts and stay current on changes to state, federal, and international laws pertaining to employment, benefits, and expansion into new employment locations.

  • Ensure employee handbook and policies remain up to date with changes in laws, as well as recommending new guidelines as needed. 

  • Execute people programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leave; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; recognition, and engagement; and training and development.

  • Assist with internal communications and own communications for the NYC office.

  • Assist the VP of People with special projects as needed.

  • Office Management

  • Serve as a liaison with building management and external vendors, including organizing deliveries and obtaining Certificates of Insurance (COIs).

  • Address and escalate service requests via the building ticketing system

  • Manage incoming and outgoing mail, notifying the appropriate internal team members. 

  • Manage and restock inventory of office supplies, snacks, groceries, and beverages.

  • Facilitate supply procurement to ensure the office is always fully stocked.

  • Support in-office catering, meetings, and events.

  • Oversee the maintenance of various equipment in the office such as coffee machines and printers.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in Human Resources or People Operations

  • A proactive and collaborative mindset, eager to contribute to team success and take initiative

  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills along with high attention to detail

  • Strong follow-up/follow-through skills, and ability to anticipate potential issues/know when to escalate

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact professionally with employees, candidates, and external partners

  • Proficiency in using HR software (Rippling and Lattice a plus) and Google Suite.

  • High level of integrity and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality

  • Familiarity with employment laws and regulations

  • Passion for creating a positive employee experience and contributing to a thriving workplace culture

  • Office management experience a plus

  • Physical demands associated with this position include standing, walking, carrying, lifting, reaching, pushing, and pulling.

Base Salary

The base salary range is between $100,000 - $120,000 annually.

Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including prior experience, expertise, location and current market data and may vary from the range above.
