The Opportunity
The Insurance Program Director role offers an exciting opportunity to operate at the intersection of insurance, product innovation, and regulatory compliance. It provides the chance to collaborate cross-functionally with the Product, Risk, Underwriting, Customer Success, Marketing, and Corporate Development departments. The role actively contributes to new and existing product development in an innovative and evolving industry.

This is a hybrid position based in New York.
Responsibilities
- Collaboratively lead the strategic development and deployment of novel insurance and SaaS products, including ideation, form drafting, sourcing data for actuarial support, and underwriting.
- Work cross-functionally with the Product, Risk, Underwriting, Data, and Customer Success departments to provide guidance in underwriting, rating, and claims processes.
- Lead and manage the creation of sales and marketing materials for new offerings.
- Develop internal programs and resources, including training materials for various departments regarding compliance, best practices, and risk management related to insurance and SaaS products.
- Contribute to designing and executing compliance testing and monitoring programs.
- Support Product and Technology teams in navigating consumer protections, industry standards, and best practices in the deployment of insurance products and SaaS platforms.
- Monitor and report on market trends and existing book performance in order to recommend and implement new products and enhancements to existing products.
- The position will directly report to the Head of the Legal and collaborate extensively with the leadership of multiple teams, including Product, Risk, Underwriting, Customer Success, Marketing, and Corporate Development departments.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience from an insurance carrier, MGA, or agent/broker, or government experience at a department of insurance. Experience designing and/or managing insurance products is a plus.
- Property and casualty insurance license preferred; CPCU certification desirable.
- Strong understanding of insurance regulations and compliance requirements.
- Effective communication skills (written and verbal), capable of presenting findings and recommendations to various audiences.

Base Salary
The base salary range is between $190,000 - $215,000 annually.
Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including prior experience, expertise, location and current market data and may vary from the range above.
