Senior Site Reliability Engineer

We are looking for a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to join our SRE team. As the Site Reliability Engineer, you will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining reliable, secure, scalable, and highly available infrastructure and applications. In this role, you will foster cross department collaboration with the SRE teams. You will be responsible for ensuring the uptime, performance, and security of our systems, and work closely with the Development, QA, Infrastructure, IT, Security and Production teams to continuously improve our application, infrastructure and processes. You will be responsible to lead and mentor team members and help the SRE manager to grow the team.


Responsibilities

  • Perform architectural design and operation at scale.

  • Develop and deliver tools/software to improve the reliability, security, scalability and operability of services.

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to analyze, provide inputs in architecture, infrastructure resources, observability  to achieve reliability and scalability goals.

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to conduct production readiness reviews, development, testing, deployment, operation and refinement.

  • Partner with stakeholders to identify, measure and monitor availability, latency and overall service health.

  • Participate in on-call engineering duty to support production.

  • Instill Site Reliability best practice through automation, data insights, and observability.

  • Perform initial incident root cause analysis with engineers, carryout incident postmortem.

  • Mentor peers in your areas of technical and operational strength.

  • Be proactive, self-motivated, customer-focused, organized, and a good communicator.


Requirements

  • Bachelor or higher degree in computer science  or similar field.

  • 5+ years of experience as a Site Reliability Engineer or in a similar role.

  • Experience on SRE best practices and principles, such as SLA/SLO, error budgets, and blameless postmortem.

  • Hands-on experience on system design and programming with shell scripting and Go, Node.js and/or React.

  • Hands-on experience on managing cloud services and discovering cost savings in AWS.

  • Experience on infrastructure-as-code tools, such as Terraform, and containerization and orchestration technologies, such as Docker and Kubernetes.

  • Strong understanding and experience of CI/CD pipelines, deployment strategies and release management.

  • Experience on designing, implementing and operating highly-available infrastructure and applications.

  • Experience on running applications and services at scale with DR and B&R.

  • Experience with tools, including but not limited to monitoring, logging, and alerting.

  • Experience with incident management and on-call rotation practices.

  • Experience on building strong relationships within and across peer teams that foster deep engagement and delivering key technologies.

Nice to Have

  • Master and higher degree in computer science or similar field.

  • 7+ years of experience as Site Reliability Engineer or in a similar role.

  • Strong experience on solutioning using AWS services and other cloud-native technologies.

  • Experience on Security & Compliance on both infrastructure and applications.

  • Experience on Agile (Scrum) software development processes.

Base Salary

The base salary range is between $130,000 - $150,000 annually.

Base salary does not include other forms of compensation or benefits. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including prior experience, expertise, location and current market data and may vary from the range above.
