About the role:
At The Information, you will join a high-impact, mission-driven team as our Senior Product Manager, driving the products and platforms that power our world-class journalism. Reporting to the SVP of Strategy & Operations, this role is the strategic architect behind every product we launch - from platforms like our site and app, to emergent product areas like Deep Research. You will be responsible for the product vision and end-to-end user experience that drives KPIs across our entire ecosystem. This is a "founding" functional role for someone who is as comfortable defining a long-term roadmap through an ownership mindset and best-in-class execution.
What you’ll do:
- Core Experience: You are responsible for attracting new subscribers and retaining our existing audience by building and refining world class digital experiences. You will move the needle on core KPIs (conversion, engagement, and long-term churn reduction) ensuring that every product touchpoint reinforces the value of The Information’s journalism and their value is effectively communicated.
- Emergent Products: Drive innovation around our content and how insights flow through products. You will drive richer AI integrations, personalization and more, with a disciplined focus on net new solutions that uniquely serve our audiences.
- Strategic Roadmap & KPI Ownership: Translate company vision into concrete, well-scoped technical roadmaps that drive outcomes (revenue, acquisition, retention). You are responsible for the "why" and "what" behind our launches, ensuring every feature has a measurable impact. You will establish an authoritative rhythm of product development that ensures continuous improvement and are empowered to work cross-functionally to ensure success.
- Cross-Functional Partnership: Act as the lead collaborator, unifying the efforts and driving shared success across teams. You will work with Strategy, line of business owners and Editorial/Audience Strategy to ensure products and platforms uplevel audience experiences and expand monetization opportunities.You will work with Leadership, Engineering, Design and Analytics to drive structured, focused launches and subsequent iterations. You will work collaboratively with Marketing to attract new and existing subscribers to delightful experiences.
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience in Product Management, with a track record of driving growth across platforms and lines of business.
- Builder Mentality: Proven ability to take a product from initial concept to high-quality launch. You can move from MVP to subsequent iterations in a methodical, structured manner and exemplary project management.
- Strategic Fluency + Planning: Ability to balance long-term company objectives with urgent, short-term initiatives without losing sight of the core user experience. Analytical rigor that ensures resource investments remain ultimately ROI+.
- Data & Technical Fluency: You have a proven requirement for deep analytics to inform your roadmap, with strong experience in structuring automated reporting and real-time dashboards, in partnership with Analytics. You are a fluent partner and champion of Engineering teams, translating their work to stakeholders and building in collaboration with their technical guidance.
- Exceptional Communication: Ability to communicate roadmaps and timely information across functional groups and levels of seniority, unifying stakeholders around shared goals and progress therein.
- Ideal Experience: Includes a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Math, Engineering or a related quantitative field (top-tier MBA preferred); experience working in Tech and/or Media; a familiarity with UI/UX design principles and tracking concepts.
What success looks like in your first 3-6 months:
By Day 30: Foundation & Strategic Audit
- Operational Immersion: Internalize the product development lifecycle and deeply understand our business and audience journey. Become an essential, high-context presence in core forums (Planning, Sprint Reviews, etc.)
- Stakeholder Synthesis: Complete 1:1s across Engineering, Design, Insights, Editorial/Audience Strategy and lines of business to map the product opportunities and potential operational roadblocks therein
- Audit: Deliver a formal assessment of our platforms and products to identify immediate optimizations that can be executed in first 60 days.
By Day 90: Operational Ownership & Architecture
- Product Roadmap Architecture: Take full ownership of the product roadmap. You will use your audit findings to inform a 6-month+ product roadmap that aligns engineering and analytics sprints with core KPIs
- Data Strategy Lead: In partnership with the Analytics team, define the technical requirements for a next-generation data structure. You will ensure our schemas are built to support emergent needs like AI-driven personalization and Deep Research.
- KPI Momentum: Demonstrate measurable impact on core KPIs through initial product enhancements.
By Day 180: Engine Optimization & Platform Vision
- The Operational Rhythm: Establish a high-velocity product delivery cycle with Engineering, Analytics, and Design synced, where you are the autonomous "Product Engine"
- Long-Term Strategy & Roadmap: Partner with the SVP of Strategy & Operations to integrate product insights into the company’s annual and multi-year planning. You will provide the data-driven confidence needed to forecast growth and define our competitive position in the market for 2027 and beyond.

We can only accept applications from those eligible to live and work in the United States. This is a hybrid role with office attendance required 3 days/week.
Salary Range: $150,000 - $170,000 USD Annually + Bonus + Benefits
