Position Summary:

The Revenue Accountant plays a key role in managing and overseeing Tilled’s income and partner commission calculations and payments, ensuring accurate financial records, compliance with accounting standards and effective revenue and cost of revenue recognition.  This role is responsible for ensuring accuracy, supporting month-end close, year-end audit tax filing, and building scalable systems and controls as the business grows.

The Revenue Accountant works cross-functionally with internal teams to monitor transactions, improve financial reporting, compliance with partner agreements and assist with partner inquiries. This role will also help establish and refine processes, ensuring the integrity and efficiency of Tilled’s financial operations.

Location: 

This position is hybrid with days in the office in Boulder. We are not sponsoring visas for this role.

Typical Hours for this Position: You must be flexible to work the hours of 8 a.m. - 5 p.m MST., Monday-Friday.

A Day in the Life May Include:

●       Monitor the entire revenue cycle, ensuring revenue is recognized in accordance with GAAP or ASC 606 standards and within contract terms

●       Prepare and maintain detailed schedules for revenue and deferred revenue, accrued commissions and reconcile accounts

●       Oversee accounts receivable and commission payments

●       Analyze processor contracts and customer agreements to ensure compliance, resolve billing discrepancies

●       Ensure adherence to accounting standards and regulatory requirements, and provide documentation for external audits

●       Monitoring and auditing the general flow of merchant funds and transactions

●       Calculating commissions and reconciling payments processed through Tilled

What You Have:

●   Minimum 3-5 years of experience in accounting/finance

●   Ability communicate with customers and internal teams

●   Proficiency in Excel

●   Ability to analyze large sets of data identify discrepancies or trends

●   Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail and organizational skills

●   Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business

What You May Have:

• Experience in fintech, payments, or PayFac environments
• Experience working with complex transaction flows or high-volume reconciliations
• Experience building or improving accounting processes and internal controls
• Experience supporting audits or working with external auditors
