About the role
Restaurant Host will greet guests as they enter and show them to their table or waiting area. You will also engage with guests to ensure their meal is as good as it should be. To do well in this role you should be comfortable standing for long periods and managing a very busy shift. You also will be able to help guests with checking in and or escorting them to their room. Responsible for assigning parking should guests choose to pay for parking on Drift Hotel property, connecting guests with the information they are looking for, making recommendations for guests to explore the city, setting up any other accommodations needs while staying with us.
What you'll do
Greeting guests as they enter, and putting them on a waiting list as necessary.
Providing guests with menus and answering any initial questions.
Seating guests at tables or in waiting areas.
Assigning guests to tables they prefer, while keeping table rotation in mind so that servers receive the right number of customers.
Engaging with guests to ensure they're happy with food and service.
Responding to complaints and helping to resolve them.
Answering phone calls, taking reservations and answering questions.
A knowledge of the menu.
Helping out with other positions in the restaurant as needed.
Greeting Hotel guests and confirming reservations.
Provide excellent customer service and attention to detail.
Maintain positive ongoing relationships.
Qualifications
High school diploma or associate degree in culinary studies or food and hospitality management
Prior experience in a food-serving establishment
Excellent written and oral communication skills
In-depth knowledge of alcoholic beverages and different types of cuisines
Highly developed interpersonal skills
Working knowledge of point-of-sale systems
High level of stamina to work to work on feet for extended periods
Maintain high ethical standards and professionalism.
Multitask and prioritize as necessary to meet customer needs.
