About the role
The primary responsibility of the Housekeeper is taking care of a building’s general cleanliness to provide tidy and sanitary amenities to guests and residents. Their duties include cleaning floors, making beds and dusting surfaces throughout a home or other building.
What you'll do
Clean bathtub, toilet, sink, walls, mirrors, tiles, counters, and floor surfaces using proper cleaning techniques
Adhere to cleaning procedures and instructions for the use of cleaning agents
Strip bed and make beds, changing bed linen. This may require lifting bedspreads
Dust all furniture, picture, drawers, window ledges and shelves
Ensure the entire room is mopped, vacuumed, and dusted.
Outside of room should be kept clean and tidy
Empty trash for the entire room and public areas
Replace all amenities, linens, and supplies in guest rooms
Keep closet, storage and cart organized
Maintain complete knowledge at all times of all hotel features/services, activities, and events. Responsible for ensuring all positions are knowledgeable all the same and able to engage/discuss with guests.
Ensure all public areas of hotel are clean
Deliver any lost and found items to appropriate area
Be able to communicate effectively with guests and provide exceptional customer service
Adhere to hotel requirements for guest/employee accidents or injuries and in emergency situations.
Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all department policies/service procedures/standards.
Maintain positive guest relations at all times
Resolve guest complaints and concerns to ensure guest satisfaction. Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas.
Ensure storage and closets are stocked properly and maintain an organized layout.
Qualifications
Previous housekeeping experience in the hospitality industry preferred
Must be team player
The ability to multitask
The ability to stand for extended periods of time
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Must exhibit good judgment while performing under pressure.
Must be dedicated to our goal of providing superior guest experiences.
Must be computer literate in Microsoft Office and general computer usage.
