About the role

The primary responsibility of the Housekeeper is taking care of a building’s general cleanliness to provide tidy and sanitary amenities to guests and residents. Their duties include cleaning floors, making beds and dusting surfaces throughout a home or other building.

What you'll do

  • Clean bathtub, toilet, sink, walls, mirrors, tiles, counters, and floor surfaces using proper cleaning techniques

  • Adhere to cleaning procedures and instructions for the use of cleaning agents

  • Strip bed and make beds, changing bed linen. This may require lifting bedspreads

  • Dust all furniture, picture, drawers, window ledges and shelves 

  • Ensure the entire room is mopped, vacuumed, and dusted. 

  • Outside of room should be kept clean and tidy

  • Empty trash for the entire room and public areas

  • Replace all amenities, linens, and supplies in guest rooms

  • Keep closet, storage and cart organized

  • Maintain complete knowledge at all times of all hotel features/services, activities, and events. Responsible for ensuring all positions are knowledgeable all the same and able to engage/discuss with guests.

  • Ensure all public areas of hotel are clean 

  • Deliver any lost and found items to appropriate area

  • Be able to communicate effectively with guests and provide exceptional customer service

  • Adhere to hotel requirements for guest/employee accidents or injuries and in emergency situations. 

  • Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all department policies/service procedures/standards. 

  • Maintain positive guest relations at all times 

  • Resolve guest complaints and concerns to ensure guest satisfaction. Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation and organization of assigned work areas.

  • Ensure storage and closets are stocked properly and maintain an organized layout. 

Qualifications

  • Previous housekeeping experience in the hospitality industry preferred

  • Must be team player

  • The ability to multitask

  • The ability to stand for extended periods of time

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills

  • Must exhibit good judgment while performing under pressure.

  • Must be dedicated to our goal of providing superior guest experiences.

  • Must be computer literate in Microsoft Office and general computer usage.
