Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced HR Manager to take ownership of key HR functions including benefits, payroll, compliance, and employee relations. This role requires someone who operates with a high level of independence, can move quickly in a fast-paced environment, and handles sensitive HR matters with professionalism and sound judgment. The ideal candidate has 10+ years of HR experience and brings strong leadership skills along with deep functional expertise.
This is not a traditional 9–5 transactional HR role, this position is for someone who thrives in a performance-driven environment, takes initiative, and can be trusted to manage complex HR responsibilities with accuracy and discretion.
Responsibilities:
Compliance & HR Risk Management
- Ensure ongoing compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including FLSA and multi-state regulations.
- Oversee HR risk areas, including investigations and workplace standards.
- Maintain and update HR policies, employee handbooks, and required documentation.
- Manage compliance audits, reporting requirements, and regulatory updates.
- Lead required compliance training such as harassment prevention and code-of-conduct initiatives.
Employee Relations
- Serve as a trusted resource for employees and leaders regarding performance issues, corrective action, and conflict resolution.
- Manage sensitive employee relations matters with consistency, discretion, and thorough documentation.
- Provide coaching to managers on employee performance, conduct expectations, and best practices.
Benefits Administration
- Manage all employee benefits programs including health, dental, vision, disability, retirement, and supplemental plans.
- Oversee enrollments, qualifying life events, terminations, and benefit changes.
- Serve as the main point of contact for employee questions and vendor coordination.
- Partner with leadership on benefits evaluations, renewals, and compliance.
Payroll Oversight
- Oversee accurate and timely payroll processing in partnership with payroll systems and vendors.
- Ensure correct employee classifications, time and attendance tracking, and pay-related compliance.
- Assist with payroll audits, reconciliations, and reporting as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- 10+ years of progressive HR experience, with strong expertise in benefits, payroll, compliance, and employee relations.
- Proven ability to take initiative and operate with minimal direction.
- Excellent organizational skills and sharp attention to detail.
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- High level of professionalism and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Thrives in a fast-paced, high-expectation, performance-driven environment.
The pay range for this role is:
105,000 - 130,000 USD per year (Remote (United States))
