About the Team

The Metal Fabrication team is currently seeking an experienced Brake Press Operator for our Port Orchard, WA manufacturing facility. The Metal Fabrication team includes welders, material grinders, manufacturing associates, and powder coat painters, working together to build, assemble, and ship products for the commercial landscape construction industry.

 

About the Role

As a Brake Press Operator, you will work under the direction of the Metal Fabrication Team Lead and directly with the production team processing steel, aluminum and other materials using a Bystronic 100-ton Brake Press and other equipment as required. You’ll also work on custom projects, reading directly from CAD drawings and blueprints to fabricate products. You’ll be based in our Port Orchard, WA manufacturing facility and have a hand in accomplishing our #1 goal – a successful project in very way. 

 

What You Will Do

·         Set up and operate press brake machines, ensuring accurate bending according to detailed blueprints and technical specifications

·         Read and interpret production orders; project plans; blueprints; or other written instructions to perform assigned duties

·         Adjust machine settings and tooling to achieve desired angles, dimensions, and surface finishes

·         Inspect the quality of the material before, during, and after the various processes to ensure quality standards are met, reporting defective material to Production Manager immediately

·         Maintain a clean, organized work area and perform routine maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal performance

·         Collaborate with fabrication, welding, and assembly teams to meet production deadlines and quality goals

·         Perform other duties as assigned

 

What You Will Need

·         Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Brake Press Operator

·         Experience working in a metal fabrication shop

·         Ability to read CAD drawings and measuring tape

·         Basic understanding of quality inspection standards and techniques for sheet metal parts

·         Ability to lift more than 50lbs, jib cranes are available in most workstations

·         Strong attention to detail

·         Reliable transportation, regular attendance and punctuality are critical

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on tenure, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

 

Physical Demands

Candidate must have the ability to stand or walk for extended periods, life and carry objects (up to 50lbs), and perform repetitive tasks. Other physical demands may include reaching, bending, stooping, and working in various environmental conditions like temperature variations, dust or noise levels.

19 - 24 USD per hour (Port Orchard, WA)
