The Performance Den is the sole strength and conditioning provider for Off Ice Training for the Colorado Thunderbirds AAA Hockey Club, as well as multiple High School and Middle School programs. The Performance Den is also the official strength and conditioning provider for TPH Academy Denver, a leading sports academy in the Denver metro area that focuses on the holistic development of student-athletes.
Join a fast growing performance business specializing in Team Training; Small Group Training and Private Training for youth to professional athletes. Head Quartered in Denver, the 7000 square foot facility is located in the Big Bear Ice arena. The Performance Den also provides strength training off site for certain clients as well.
Instructional Requirements:
- The ability to lead athletes of all levels and safely train them to achieve their performance goals.
- Experience with Hawkins Dynamics Force Plates, both performing and analyzing jump tests.
- Strong understanding of teaching progressions for speed, power and strength.
- Ability to work within a team setting.
- Coach under the direction of The Director of Sports Performance.
Off-Ice Instructional Functions
- Create a daily, weekly and yearly off-ice training plan consistent with The Performance Den Philosophy.
- Create a daily, weekly and yearly off-ice training plan for all athletes, if applicable.
- Individualize and customize the training experience for each athlete, factoring in age, size and ability.
- Execute performance testing, and review relevant data and metrics.
- Utilize any applications in an effort to further enhance the individualization and customization of the training experience.
- Maintain a direct line of communication with the Director of Sports Performance with regards to athlete performance.
- Ensure all athletes are training in a safe, positive environment, one that is consistent with The Performance Den and USA Hockey standards.
Culture, Impact and Mentorship
- Support and enforce all Performance Den, member or partner association (if applicable) and USA Hockey guidelines related to student-athlete safety, health and overall well-being, including but not limited to locker room monitoring.
- Oversee a quality culture that promotes work ethic, discipline and acceptance, and hold student-athletes accountable to a high standard that promotes these traits.
- Take interest in each individual as a player, athlete, student and person, and establish touchpoints with all individuals under your tutelage, so as to forge a strong partnership, one that is built on honesty and trust.
- Demand that athletes be punctual, focused and invested for all activities, and be prepared to do the same as an adult mentor.
- Take a vested interest in overall athlete wellness and utilize any application as much as possible to (1) individualize and customize the overall experience and (2) initiate conversations that lead to positively impacting the lives of student-athletes.
Experience Requirements: Minimum 3 years experience in the field (preferably hockey experience).
Educational Qualifications: CSCS Bachelors in Exercise Science or Related degree.
Preferred Qualification: Masters in Exercise Science or related degree.
Starting salary is $50,000 or commensurate with experience plus performance incentives. The position comes with full benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, PTO, paid holidays, 401(k) match, etc.
