TITLE: UPS Field Service Engineers – NYC & NJ Region
DIRECT HIRE

LOCATION: New York City or New Jersey
(Must reside within NYC’s five boroughs or within 1.5 hours of the city)


FIELD JOB DETAILS:

  • Majority Local Travel: Work primarily within your local area, with occasional nationwide overnight travel for business needs or training.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

As a UPS Field Service Engineer (FSE), you’ll apply your expertise in power electronics to support, maintain, and troubleshoot UPS systems and critical power infrastructure. This home-based role dispatches you directly to customer sites.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform start-ups, commissioning, maintenance, and emergency support for UPS and related systems
  • Conduct technical site reviews, prepare testing documentation, and oversee on-site execution
  • Deliver preventive maintenance and on-call support as needed
  • Attend hands-on training at HQ on various OEM systems and SOPs
  • Work closely with tech support for advanced troubleshooting and client support
  • Create MOPs and report unique site issues to supervisors

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3–5+ years in the critical power industry, troubleshooting down to component level (UPS, batteries, PDU, STS, etc.)
  • Proficient with hand tools and diagnostic equipment
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently with attention to detail
  • Able to lift up to 100 lbs. and work flexible hours including nights/weekends
  • Familiarity with general computer hardware/software

Preferred Experience:

  • Prior 3rd party UPS servicing
  • OEM factory training with Liebert/Emerson/Vertiv, APC/MGE/Schneider, or Eaton/Powerware
  • Military background or technical degree in electronics or engineering

EDUCATION:

  • Technical Degree from an accredited 2-year engineering or technical program
    OR
  • 3–5 years of technician experience in power electronics or a related field

The pay range for this role is:

75,000 - 92,000 USD per year (New Jersey)

75,000 - 92,000 USD per year (New York)
