Senior Civil Professional Engineer

As part of our commitment to excellence, we are seeking a qualified Senior Civil Professional Engineer (PE) who possesses expertise in the design and entitlements of large-scale land development, site design, team and project management. The successful candidate will join our growing team and facilitate successful developments throughout the United States. 


Note: This position can be remote or hybrid from our headquarters in Denver, Colorado.


Position Overview:

Tract is seeking a talented and motivated Senior Civil Professional Engineer (PE) to join our dynamic technical team. The ideal candidate will have 15+ years of post-educational experience in the design and entitlement of large-scale commercial/industrial land development projects.  

 

Qualified candidates will work alongside our experienced power, land development, entitlements and land acquisition teams to assess sites across the US in due diligence and provide technical support through entitlement, site design and construction. 

 

Candidate must have management experience, be capable of building out a team of civil engineers and lead the team to shovel ready pad development projects. 

 

Candidate must be a team leader but also a technical expert is heavy civil/land development design. Previous data center design experience is preferred but not a requirement.  


Additional support will be required in the planning, design and development of projects to comply with local and industry standards, regulations and client specifications. Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D is a crucial requirement for this role as it will involve extensive use of the software for creating and modifying drawings, maps and models.

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Collaborate with in-house technical team and consultants in the design and development of projects, including site layout, grading, road design, stormwater management, wet and dry utility layouts and other related aspects. 
  • Review geotechnical studies, wetland delineations, cultural resources and threatened and endangered species reports and provide summaries/read-outs to management team.  
  • Assist in the creation/drafting of development agreements with local jurisdictions.   
  • Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D software to create, edit, and update engineering drawings, plans, and possibly plan/profile drawings.  
  • Prepare calculations, quantity take-offs, and cost estimates for proposed projects.  
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations summarizing project findings and recommendations. 
  • Interact with local municipalities, landowners and consulting teams.  

Experience Qualifications: 

The successful candidate will have experience and practical expertise in the following: 

  • Engineering team management 
  • Collaboration with consultants and contractors on large sale heavy civil developments 
  • Quality Control Plan Reviews 
  • Framework planning large (300 to 1500+ Acre) tracts of land.  
  • Preparation of utility feasibility reports.  
  • Earthwork design and volume analysis 
  • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Extensive knowledge of gravity and pressurized piping systems and design.  
  • Implementation of utility transmission and distribution lines within site layouts.  
  • Experience writing technical reports/memos.  
  • Experience researching, analyzing and implementing development code requirements into site plans. 

Baseline Requirements 

Education, Professional Certifications, and Licenses: 

  • Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field (master’s preferred) 
  • Professional Engineering Licensure. 

Experience  

  • 10-15 years of experience in civil engineering, with at least 5 years focused on large scale industrial site development.  
  • 5+ years of experience as an engineering manager. 

Preferred Experience and Qualifications: 

  • Previous experience as a city engineer/assistant city engineer or public works experience.  
  • Design/operations experience in water/wastewater treatment facilities. 
  • Experience with sustainable/low-impact/green design.  
  • Minimum of 8 years of Civil 3D experience. 
  • Experience with Civil 3D Grading Optimization tools.  

 

Travel 

  • Required travel of approximately 20% within US markets (NV to VA) 


Expected Salary Range: $200,000 - $250,000 plus Bonus
