About the role

As a Senior Solutions Engineer at Transcend, you will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of our Data Discovery & Classification product suite, which includes Data InventorySilo DiscoveryStructured DiscoveryUnstructured Discovery, and Data Lineage, as well as our Sombra encryption gateway. This role demands a blend of technical expertise in data stacks and a passion for customer success at the enterprise level.

What you'll do
  • Run end-to-end implementations of Transcend’s Data Discovery & Classification and Sombra products, providing technical and tailored expertise and guidance, as well as proactive customer project management.
  • Serve as the primary technical contact for a portion of Transcend’s customer accounts after go-live, hosting monthly or quarterly check-in calls to discuss each customer’s Data Discovery & Classification program, how it is evolving/maturing, and how Transcend can help.
  • Partner closely with the Product & Engineering teams, proactively identifying areas of opportunity for improvement in our products and gathering and synthesizing customer feedback to inform our product roadmap.
  • Develop and maintain Transcend’s internal implementation methodology and supporting resources (e.g., playbooks) as the Data Discovery & Classification product suite matures and expands over time.
  • Develop use case guides and other customer-facing content (e.g., onboarding videos) to enable our customers with more self-serve resource options.
  • Keep up-to-date with regulatory requirements that influence Data Discovery & Classification user stories (e.g., ROPAs, DPIAs).
Who you are
  • You bring 4+ years of experience in solutions engineering, software implementation, professional services, customer support, or a similar field – preferably working with data-focused products.
  • You have experience supporting system integrations and a solid knowledge of data stacks (e.g., data warehouse technologies, data lakes, query engines).
  • You are comfortable with code and software development patterns (e.g., running terminal commands, cloning Git repositories, and writing simple functions in a scripting language like JavaScript or Python).
  • You are an excellent customer-facing communicator, with an aptitude for mapping customer pain points and business objectives to technical solutions, and explaining complex, technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • You are extremely organized and detail-oriented; you’re comfortable working independently in a rapidly changing environment with dynamic objectives and embrace continuous learning.
  • You are familiar with the needs and expectations of enterprise B2B software customers.
  • You are very comfortable with async and online methods of communication. Our team and customers are widely distributed, so the ability to clearly and thoughtfully communicate despite the space and time barriers is very important.
Bonus Points
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Experience working with data mapping or scanning technologies for systems such as Snowflake, S3, Hive, MongoDB, Google Drive, O365, etc. 
  • Experience working with AWS, Terraform, GCP, Azure, or related DevOps or Infrastructure experience.
  • Experience in data privacy, GRC, or cybersecurity, and familiarity with privacy laws such as GDPR, CPRA, etc.

For this role, the estimated annual total salary ranges are below. The actual annual salary will vary based on various factors, including market and individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process.

The listed range below is a guideline, and the annual total salary range for this role may be modified. Transcend offers attractive health benefits, equity, and perks in addition to cash compensation.

The pay range for this role is:

140,000 - 170,000 USD per year (Remote - United States)
