About the role

Transcend is launching our first-ever Digital Executive in Residence program—and we’re seeking a transformative digital leader to guide the next evolution of data-driven growth. As our Digital Executive in Residence, you’ll sit at the intersection of digital transformation and data privacy, helping executives modernize their customer data strategies while ensuring real-time permissioning is built into the infrastructure that powers personalization, loyalty, and AI.


This short-term, high-impact role is modeled on our successful CISO in Residence program. It’s designed for someone who’s shaped digital innovation at the executive level and can now share their insights with the broader market—especially as consent and preference management shift from compliance tasks to growth-critical infrastructure.


At Transcend, we’ve seen firsthand how fast-growing enterprises are re-architecting data systems to enable trusted, real-time decision-making. As our Digital Executive in Residence, you’ll play a key role in guiding this shift—helping product, marketing, and privacy leaders evolve toward intelligent, consent-aware digital experiences.


Please Note: This is a six-month engagement, with the option to extend at the end of the period. Travel requirements may range from 20-40% depending on location. This is a remote role but preferred locations include San Francisco, New York, or Washington, D.C.


What you'll do

  • Advise the Field: Share expertise with Transcend customers and prospects—especially CMOs, CDOs, Heads of Personalization, and Digital leaders—on how to build scalable, consent-aware digital systems that power AI, growth, and trust.
  • Elevate the Narrative: Help advance how the industry talks about consent and preference management—reframing it as an essential layer for data readiness, not just legal compliance.
  • Co-create with Transcend: Collaborate with our product, marketing, and leadership teams to shape our roadmap, voice, and go-to-market strategies around digital transformation.
  • Lead with Insight: Create and share thought leadership on topics like consent-aware personalization, enterprise data strategy, or AI-enablement, informed by real-world experience.
  • Build Executive Bridges: Help align privacy with digital, product, and marketing priorities inside complex organizations—especially those in regulated or data-heavy industries.

Who you are

  • 10+ years of executive-level experience in digital, data, or marketing transformation (e.g. Chief Digital Officer, CMO, VP of Personalization, or Head of Data Strategy).
  • Proven track record leading enterprise-scale efforts to modernize customer data infrastructure or roll out consent/preference modernization across stacks.
  • Experience with personalization at scale, AI readiness, customer lifecycle strategy, and/or global growth enablement in data-rich industries (e.g. SaaS, healthcare, fintech, consumer tech)
  • No prior privacy or data governance experience required. 
  • Strong storytelling and communication skills, including experience presenting to boards, media/conferences, and executive peers.
  • Deep empathy for both growth-minded product/marketing teams and privacy/security partners trying to move fast while staying compliant.
