About the role

Transcend is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Solutions Engineering (Post Sales) to lead our team of talented Solutions Engineers who are responsible for our customer onboardings, implementations, and ongoing technical consultation. This role will play a pivotal part in driving faster time to value and deeper adoption, ultimately setting the foundation for long-term retention and expansion. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in scaling implementation and professional services teams to enable customer outcomes across Mid-Market Enterprise, and Strategic segments, facilitating experiences ranging from self-serve to white-glove.

What you'll do

  • Oversee the execution of technical implementations of Transcend products, as well as ongoing technical support for Pro and Premier customers, ensuring we deliver solutions that meet and exceed customer needs within the intricacies of global data privacy laws.
  • Drive department scaling initiatives by developing project management resources and playbooks for key milestones and scenarios throughout the implementation lifecycle, helping to minimize scope creep and build more standardization and predictability into Transcend’s onboarding experience.
  • Serve as a strategic project manager for Transcend’s top tier accounts, developing a project management methodology that can potentially be expanded into a full Project Management function in the future.
  • Directly manage our Solutions Engineering team, providing ongoing enablement, coaching, and development, and leading the hiring and onboarding of new team members as needed.
  • Serve as an escalation point for technical customer issues and feedback, helping to coordinate resources as needed to address implementation risks and blockers.
  • Establish processes to drive accountability for Solutions Engineering metrics (e.g., average implementation time, # of go-lives, implementation CSAT, product adoption coverage) – ensuring data integrity and visibility on a real-time basis to facilitate data-driven decisions and action.
  • Build and maintain systems and processes (e.g., time tracking) to manage Solutions Engineering team capacity and utilization, using data to inform project/account assignments and hiring plans, as well as drive towards project profitability.
  • Partner with Sales Leadership to mature our pre-sale to post-sale customer experience, including the development of formal implementation scoping resources.
  • Collaborate with our Head of Channel Partnerships to build and enable our network of implementation and professional services partners, owning oversight of all partner-led implementations.

Who you are

  • You bring 8+ years of progressive leadership experience in professional services, software implementation, solutions engineering, or a related technical field, with a strong focus on enterprise SaaS solutions.
  • You are fluent in technical concepts with at least a basic understanding of technologies such as SQL, JavaScript scripting, ETL tooling, and cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure).
  • You have a proven track record of success as a people leader overseeing multiple direct reports, and building and managing high-performing, customer-focused teams.
  • You are an expert project manager, with experience navigating the needs and expectations of large enterprise customers during a software implementation.
  • You’re energized by a highly cross-functional, rapidly changing environment and aren’t afraid to get in the weeds to figure things out.
  • You’re a data-driven problem solver, who loves to work in the intersection of facilitating quick wins while also building with longer-term scale in mind.
  • You are highly effective at async and online methods of communication. Our team is widely distributed, so the ability to clearly and thoughtfully communicate despite the space and time barriers is very important.
  • You have experience in the customer data, information security, or data privacy industry, and familiarity with data protection and privacy technology standards such as GDPR, CCPA, and other upcoming regulations.
