R&D Tax Credit Project Manager

We are looking for a passionate and detail-oriented R&D Tax Credit Project Manager to join our team and lead our efforts in providing insights and solutions that drive financial benefits for our clientele.

About the role


The R&D Tax Credit Project Manager will oversee and manage the delivery of R&D tax credit project services, facilitating a thorough analysis of clients' operations to identify qualifying activities and expenditures. This role requires a strong understanding of tax credits related to research and development, outstanding leadership skills, and the capability to liaise with clients, ensuring a non-invasive approach in our analysis while striving to maximize their R&D claims.


What you'll do

  • Lead and manage R&D tax credit project engagements.
  • Conduct detailed assessments and analyses of clients' operations and processes to evaluate R&D activities and cost structures.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, engineers, and CPAs in analyzing the technical and financial aspects of projects; drive interdisciplinary teamwork to achieve optimal results.
  • Educate and explain IRC sections 41 and 174.
  • Develop strategic project plans with an emphasis on client goals and compliance requirements.
  • Communicate project scopes, timelines, expectations, and deliverables clearly to clients, ensuring a smooth and informative process.
  • Prepare detailed reports that articulate findings, scope of work, and recommended claims for submission, thus maximizing clients’ R&D tax credits.
  • Stay up to date with current laws, regulations, and methodologies surrounding R&D tax credits to ensure compliance and advise clients accurately.
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as their main point of contact throughout project timelines and ensuring high client satisfaction.
  • Prepare for and participate in client meetings, workshops, and presentations showcasing findings and strategies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, engineering, economics, or a related field
  • 2-4 years of experience in project management, finance, or tax
  • 2+ years of experience in R&D specialty tax or related field required
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and management software tools
  • Experience with client management and relationship building
