Senior Data Enablement Lead

Founded in 2017, Trust & Will is the leading digital estate planning platform, trusted by over one million users. We provide modern, accessible solutions to help families protect their legacies with attorney-approved, legally valid documents tailored to individual state requirements. Our seamless online platform simplifies the estate planning and settlement process, empowering individuals to create wills and trusts while also partnering with financial advisors, attorneys, and institutions to make legacy planning more inclusive and affordable.

If you’d like to join us, we are looking for a Senior Data Enablement Lead  to help unlock the value of our data platform by building reusable, well-documented, and trusted data products. While technical in nature, this role requires exceptional stakeholder empathy and business fluency. You’ll help teams use data strategically and fuel AI features, personalization, operational reporting, and experimentation.

About You:

  • You have a strong background in data engineering and system thinking. You’ve built pipelines, modeled data with dbt or similar, and might have used an orchestration tool and fixed broken data transformations. This gives you insight into what makes data reliable. You can also engage with stakeholders, the thought of leading a workshop excites you, and turn business problems into clear semantic models.
  • You enjoy designing for reusability. You value clear documentation, and helping others work faster with reliable data assets. You believe that great data starts with shared definitions. You understand that discoverability, governance, and education are key to making platforms useful.
  • You excel in uncertain situations and seek clarity. You know how to prioritize use cases that benefit the business. You are collaborative, curious, and excited about creating systems that empower others.

About the Role:

  • This role is part of our Data Platform function and reports to the Data Engineering team. You’ll partner cross-functionally with Data Analytics, Product, Engineering, AI/ML, Operations (including Customer Success), Finance and Marketing to design and deliver semantic data models and governed assets that are reusable, reliable, and scalable. You’ll help define and prioritize our most strategic data products and establish standards for data documentation, quality, and consumption.
  • This role is expected to be 20–30% hands-on-keyboard, prototyping or extending data products directly.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in data product, analytics engineering, or data engineering roles
  • Strong technical fluency: deep SQL skills and experience with tools like dbt, Snowflake, or BigQuery
  • Proven experience building and maintaining data products such as a data model (Customer 360, Identity Graphs, etc.)
  • Experience facilitating structured stakeholder sessions to gather use cases, metrics, and shared definitions
  • Clear understanding of data contracts, governance, and cataloging best practices
  • Ability to drive adoption of documentation and reusable assets across diverse teams
  • Proven ability to align stakeholders and prioritize work across conflicting needs
  • Comfortable leading implementation discussions and troubleshooting data quality or modeling issues
  • This position is available to candidates residing in the following states only: California (CA), Colorado (CO), Florida (FL), Georgia (GA), Idaho (ID), Illinois (IL), Maryland (MD), New Jersey (NJ), New York (NY), North Carolina (NC), Pennsylvania (PA), Texas (TX), Vermont (VT)

Bonus Points for:

  • Familiarity with frameworks like the Information Product Canvas or similar
  • Prior experience building with or using data catalogs, glossaries, or lineage tools
  • Exposure to AI/ML use cases and data readiness for personalization or recommendation systems
  • Experience in high-growth SaaS, fintech, or consumer platforms

  • A drive to rise above obstacles when complexity feels like a brick wall.
