Trustible is a fast-growing, venture-backed startup working with some of the leading Fortune 500s and technology companies in enabling their responsible AI governance. Our AI-powered software platform enables legal/compliance and AI/ML teams to scale their AI Governance strategies to help build trust, manage risk, and comply with regulations.
We believe effective AI governance unlocks innovation rather than constraining it. At Trustible, you’ll help organizations adopt AI safely and at scale while doing work that is necessary, action-oriented, and foundational to the future of AI.
We are looking for a Director of AI Governance to serve as the connective tissue between the rapidly evolving AI regulatory landscape and the practical needs of enterprise AI governance programs. This role blends deep policy expertise with hands-on customer engagement, sitting at the intersection of product, legal, and go-to-market.
You will be Trustible’s in-house AI policy expert, monitoring the global regulatory landscape, translating legislation and frameworks into actionable product requirements, and ensuring our platform reflects the state of the art in AI governance best practices. At the same time, you will work directly with enterprise customers as a trusted governance advisor, helping them understand what good AI governance looks like, how emerging regulations affect their programs, and how to configure Trustible to operationalize compliance.
This is a role for someone who is equally comfortable dissecting a piece of legislation and whiteboarding an implementation plan with a Fortune 500 compliance team.
• Monitor, analyze, and synthesize global AI legislation (EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF, state-level US laws, sector-specific guidance) into clear, actionable intelligence for product and go-to-market teams
• Map regulatory requirements to Trustible’s platform constructs, translating legal obligations into specific features, fields, workflows, and assessment criteria
• Partner with the product team to scope and prioritize requirements that ensure the platform meets current and anticipated regulatory needs
• Develop and maintain a regulatory mapping library that connects legislation to platform capabilities, serving as a resource for internal teams and customers alike
• Engage directly with enterprise customers to assess their regulatory obligations, risk posture, and organizational maturity around AI governance
• Advise customers on how to structure their AI governance programs, including risk frameworks, vendor assessment processes, use case inventories, and approval workflows
• Guide customers on platform configuration decisions, helping them understand how Trustible’s features map to their specific governance requirements
• Lead implementation workshops and advisory sessions that translate regulatory complexity into practical, platform-supported workflows
• Develop reusable governance templates, vendor profiles, and AI risk guidance accelerate customer time-to-value
• Serve as an escalation point for complex governance questions that require deep regulatory or legal expertise
• Gather customer feedback and translate recurring needs into product enhancement recommendations
• Author thought leadership content (white papers, blog posts, regulatory briefs) that establishes Trustible as a credible voice in AI governance
• Contribute to sales enablement materials that articulate how Trustible addresses specific regulatory requirements
Required
• 5+ years of experience working in AI policy, technology law, regulatory compliance, or a closely adjacent field
• Demonstrated fluency in global AI regulatory frameworks (EU AI Act, NIST AI RMF, ISO 42001, and equivalent standards)
• Experience working with enterprise customers in an advisory, consulting, or implementation capacity
• Ability to translate complex legal and regulatory language into clear, practical guidance for both technical and non-technical audiences
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present credibly to senior stakeholders, legal teams, and compliance officers
• Comfort operating in a fast-paced startup environment where you will wear multiple hats and shape the role as it evolves
Strongly Preferred
• J.D. or equivalent legal degree
• Experience in a legal, policy, or compliance role at a technology company or consultancy focused on AI/ML
• Familiarity with GRC (Governance, Risk & Compliance) platforms and enterprise software workflows
• Prior experience translating legislation into software product requirements
Nice to Have
• AIGP, CIPP/US, CIPP/E, or equivalent privacy/governance certifications
• Experience with AI vendor risk management or third-party AI assessments
• Background in product development, public policy, legislative affairs, or government relations related to technology
• High-impact role: Shape AI governance strategy and execution at a critical inflection point in our growth
• Cutting-edge space: Work at the intersection of AI, governance, and enterprise technology during a pivotal moment in the industry
• World-class customers: Engage with Fortune 500 companies and leading technology firms solving critical governance challenges
• Ownership and autonomy: Lead multiple functions with significant independence and executive visibility
• AI-first culture: Work at a company that not only builds AI governance solutions but practices what we preach, responsibly leveraging AI throughout our operations
• Base salary: $140,000-$160,000 (depending on experience, skill level, location, and qualifications assessment during the interviewing process)
• Equity ownership with upside aligned to company growth
• Competitive medical, dental, and vision coverage
• Flexible/remote work policy and uncapped PTO policy
• Professional development stipend and commuter/transport benefits
• Hybrid work environment: WFH on Monday and Friday, In-Office on Tuesday-Thursday
