The Role

Join our Android team as a Senior Engineer, where you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our products and Android ecosystem. Your expertise will help drive innovation across phones, tablets, TV, and automotive projects.

You'll be a key contributor to our team as we continue to modernize our codebase using Kotlin and Android architecture components with an emphasis on writing clean, testable code. 

As a Senior Android Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in developing and enhancing our innovative automotive solutions for both new and existing partners, as well as driving the evolution of our mobile app. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to create cutting-edge experiences that seamlessly integrate automotive technology with mobile platforms. Scope of Work

• You’ll work with Product, Design, and other Engineering teams to define, architect, and develop new features.
• Be an ambassador for best Android practices to advise on its capabilities and limitations, and share your knowledge with the team. 
• Contribute to our codebase by writing clean, tested, and observable code.
• Translate wireframes and/or high-fidelity comps into robust, yet simple, efficient, and functional solutions.
• Take full ownership of everything you ship; you would never call code “released” until you are confident it’s polished and ready for production.
• Continuously improve code standards, performance, and productivity using measuring sticks like metrics and dashboards.
• Proactively evaluate, improve, and optimize our applications for scalability and performance.

Skills & Technical Abilities 

• Excellent working knowledge of Kotlin, Java, and the Android SDK
• 6+ years of hands-on software engineering experience with at least 4 years of development for Android. 
• Experience working with HTTP web service APIs.
• Experience collaborating with Product and Design teams to align technical solutions with user experience and business objectives.
• Strong sense of usability and design in consumer applications. 
• Strong understanding of performance monitoring and optimization techniques in consumer-facing services. 
• Excellent English written and communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with modular, component-based design is a plus.
• Experience with video or audio streaming technologies is a plus.
• Experience with Automotive development is a plus. 
• Experience with advertising is a plus.
