This position supports UG’s forward-leaning readiness model and is posted in preparation of anticipated contract requirements. Overview

The Security Operations Chief is responsible for organizing, coordinating, and overseeing the execution of daily security operations in accordance with the Security Director’s orders and operational intent. This role serves as the primary integrator of personnel, movement, logistics, and reporting to ensure operational continuity, readiness, and disciplined execution across all security activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and enforce the Security Director’s orders, guidance, and operational intent
  • Supervise the Deputy Operations Chief, Mission Communicators, Cultural Support Officers, and Interpreters
  • Plan, manage, and oversee shift schedules, personnel rotations, movement plans, and operational reporting
  • Ensure continuous readiness and accountability of personnel, equipment, and organizational resources
  • Coordinate operational rehearsals, contingency planning, and casualty evacuation (CASEVAC) procedures
  • Oversee and assist with day-to-day execution of security operations
  • Monitor, assess, and report operational readiness and emerging issues

Required Qualifications

·       Prior military service with senior non-commissioned or commissioned officer leadership experience, which includes one or more of the following:

o   E-8 or above (1SG, SCPO, Operations SGM, CSM, CMC)

o   Special Forces Team Leader

o   Company or Battalion Command positions

o   Team Leader in a Special Missions Unit

o   Ranger Platoon Sergeant

·       Extensive experience leading personnel in high-risk, operational environments

·       Demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate, and execute complex security operations

·       Strong leadership presence with the ability to enforce standards and maintain discipline

·       Experience managing personnel readiness, equipment accountability, and operational reporting

Preferred Qualifications

·       Prior experience in private security, contracting, or deployed advisory roles

·       Proven ability to operate independently while coordinating with senior leadership

·       Strong decision-making skills under pressure

·       Mission-first mindset with a focus on contractor care and operational excellence
