Human Resources Generalist
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented HR Generalist to support our day-to-day employee and contractor operations. This role will be responsible for a wide range of HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, and compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of HR best practices, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to handle sensitive matters with professionalism and confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and support day-to-day HR operations across various functional areas
- Assist in the coordination of recruitment efforts, including posting job openings, screening candidates, and scheduling interviews for corporate personnel
- Support onboarding and offboarding processes for employees and independent contractors
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee, and independent contractor records in HR systems and files
- Address employee inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and HR programs
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
- Handle employee relations matters, including conflict resolution and disciplinary procedures
Qualifications
Essential
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field
- 2–4 years of experience in a generalist HR role or similar HR function
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices
- Experience with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, start-up environment
Preferred
- HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR)
- Prior experience supporting a multi-site or remote workforce
- Experience in defense industry
- Experience with an independent contractor workforce
