This position supports UG’s forward-leaning readiness model and is posted in preparation of anticipated contract requirements. Position Summary: 

We are seeking experienced Logistics Officer with backgrounds operating or directing operations in a challenging environment with a small team in support. The ideal candidate brings a detail-oriented mindset, a strong understanding of supply chain protocols, and the discipline and discretion that comes from prior specialized service. 

 

This position focuses on material movement, distribution, readiness, quality control, and strict adherence to compliance standards. Candidates must be capable of operating in dynamic environments, supporting operational continuity, and upholding safety and security protocols across all phases of supply chain execution. 

 

Travel may be required up to 75% of the time. 

 

Roles and Responsibilities 

Convoy Operations: 

o   Verify pallet integrity and ensure load stability before dispatch. 

o   Conduct detailed labeling checks and confirm manifest accuracy. 

o   Coordinate with transport and operations teams to ensure timely, secure, and compliant material movements. 

Site Management and Material Delivery 

o   Monitor site performance metrics and implement process improvements to increase throughput and accuracy. 

o   Coordinate directly with logistics planners and operations officers to adjust site activity based on convoy schedules or shifting regional needs. 

o   Coordinate the convoy rotation, unloading, and staging for distribution operations. 

Quality Control and Quality Assurance (QC/QA): 

o   Participate in daily inventory audits and reconciliation efforts. 

o   Support ongoing reviews of logistics processes to ensure efficiency and accuracy. 

o   Assist with routine safety inspections and recommend corrective actions when necessary. 

Compliance Monitoring: 

o   Enforce Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to hygiene, storage, and material handling. 

o   Monitor security and sanitation practices across multiple classes of goods, including food, fuel, medical supplies, and sanitation materials. 

o   Identify and report any non-compliance, discrepancies, or safety concerns to supervisory staff. 

 

Required Qualifications

Candidates must meet one of the following experience backgrounds:

 

Military Logistics Experience

·       Prior experience managing or executing forward, expeditionary, humanitarian, or classified logistics operations in

austere or high-security environments

·       Background in convoy operations, field supply chain, or distributed material staging and delivery

·       Strong familiarity with military-grade logistics protocols, inspection standards, and accountability procedures

·       Experience operating with small teams in dynamic or resource-constrained environments

 

Civilian Logistics / Distribution Experience

·       Prior leadership or operational experience in high-throughput, complex logistics or distribution environments (e.g., Amazon, FedEx, DHL, Walmart, Samaritan’s Purse, or comparable global supply chain or humanitarian organizations)

·       Direct experience managing warehouse, fulfillment, or multi-site distribution operations with modern tracking and inventory systems (WMS, RFID/barcode scanning, automated inventory platforms, real-time shipment tracking)

·       Demonstrated ownership of material flow, staging, and delivery accuracy in fast-paced, metrics-driven operations

·       Experience enforcing SOPs, safety standards, and quality controls in regulated or compliance-sensitive supply chains

·       Ability to operate with limited oversight in high-pressure environments with shifting operational priorities

 

Highly Preferred

·       Candidates who bring both military/expeditionary logistics experience and civilian large-scale distribution or supply chain experience

·       Experience translating commercial logistics best practices into austere, humanitarian, or security-sensitive environments

·       Familiarity with ISO standards, federal supply chain regulations, or humanitarian logistics frameworks

·       Current or previous security clearance (active or eligible for reactivation)

·       OSHA, HAZMAT, or equivalent safety certification

 

Physical & Travel Requirements 

·       Candidates must be physically capable of working in demanding environments, including those with limited infrastructure and elevated safety risks. 

·       The position involves frequent standing, walking, and physical activity throughout the day. 

·       Candidates must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds unassisted. 

·       All employees must comply with company safety protocols and training requirements related to high-risk travel.
