About the role

As a Distribution Driver, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely and safe delivery of goods to our customers. You will be responsible for transporting merchandise from our distribution center to various delivery points using company-owned vehicles. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to safety, exceptional driving skills, and a customer-focused attitude.

What you'll do

  1. Safely operate company vehicles to transport goods to designated locations according to pre-planned routes.
  2. Load and unload merchandise from the delivery vehicle, ensuring proper handling and secure placement of items.
  3. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure roadworthiness and compliance with safety regulations
  4. Adhere to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety procedures while driving and operating equipment.
  5. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including receipts, delivery logs, and mileage reports.
  6. Communicate effectively with dispatchers, supervisors, and customers regarding delivery schedules, delays, or issues.
  7. Provide exceptional customer service during delivery interactions, addressing any inquiries or concerns professionally and courteously.
  8. Handle minor vehicle maintenance tasks, such as refueling, checking fluid levels, and reporting any mechanical issues to the appropriate personnel.
  9. Follow established protocols for reporting accidents, incidents, or violations and cooperate with authorities as necessary.
  10. Uphold the company's reputation for reliability, professionalism, and quality service through exemplary conduct and performance

Qualifications

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Proven experience as a distribution driver or similar role, preferably in a logistics or transportation environment.
  • Familiarity with local roads, routes, and traffic patterns.
  • Ability to safely operate and maneuver delivery vehicles of varying sizes, including vans and trucks.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping and documentation.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with customers and team members.
  • Physical stamina and strength to lift and move heavy items, as well as perform loading and unloading tasks.
  • Flexibility to work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings, as needed.
  • Commitment to safety, adherence to regulations, and willingness to participate in ongoing training and development initiatives.
