About the role


The 211 Community Resource Manager role offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to support critical community services as part of the United Way Bay Area (UWBA) Community Impact Department. This position supports the day-to-day operations of the 211 program and leads the ongoing development and maintenance of the 211 Community Resource Directory. 

  

As part of the Safety Net team, the Community Resource Manager plays a key role in ensuring the accuracy and usability of resource data, supporting program design, and implementing special projects that enhance service delivery and responsiveness to community needs. While operating with a degree of independence, this role receives guidance from senior staff and works collaboratively across departments and with community partners. 


What you'll do

211 Program Support and Administration 

  • Support the development and maintenance of the 211 Community Resource Directory with attention to data structure and program integration. 
  • Ensure timely collection and quality control of key data elements, including service records and taxonomy indexing. 
  • Collaborate with internal teams to troubleshoot and resolve data issues, ensuring accuracy and alignment with reporting needs. 
  • Contribute to the strategic analysis of program data to identify gaps in services and support program improvements. 
  • Assist in monitoring performance metrics and compliance with Inform USA standards and contractual requirements. 
  • Raise process improvement opportunities and operational concerns to senior team members for review and potential action. 
  • Build collaborative working relationships with UWBA teams, ambassadors, and external partners. 

  

211 Resource Maintenance Operations 

  • Manage internal reporting and monitor data integrity across systems used to track services, partnerships, and outcomes. 
  • Conduct research on local agencies offering low- and no-cost services in the Bay Area and ensure timely updates to the database. 
  • Maintain accurate documentation of service outcomes and support compliance with local, state, and federal guidelines. 
  • In partnership with the 211 Director, serve as a Public Information Liaison during local or regional disaster activations. 
  • Support timely updates to resources and service delivery during emergency response efforts. 

  

Community Partnerships and Outreach 

  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders to strengthen communication and collaboration in support of client and system-level advocacy. 
  • Represent 211 Bay Area at community meetings, outreach events, coalitions, and conferences. 
  • Deliver presentations on 211 services and contribute to the development of new strategic partnerships. 
  • Support outreach activities and communication with partners on specific resources or programmatic updates. 

  

Other Responsibilities 

  • Provide administrative and project support to the Community Impact team. 
  • Coordinate meetings, training, and convenings with external partners and stakeholders. 
  • Take on additional projects or duties as assigned. 


Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of relevant professional or volunteer experience, preferably in a nonprofit or human services setting. 
  • Strong organizational and project management skills. 
  • Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities with occasional supervision. 
  • Detail-oriented and dependable, with a commitment to accuracy and follow-through. 
  • Demonstrated commitment to racial equity, diversity, inclusion, and continuous learning. 
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive working relationships with diverse stakeholders. 


This position is covered under a collective bargaining agreement and is represented by OPEIU, Local 29.


UWBA is committed to equitable and transparent compensation practices. The salary listed for this role has been thoughtfully determined based on our structured approach to pay equity. As part of this commitment, we do not engage in salary negotiations.

The pay range for this role is:

76,500 - 76,500 USD per year (Hybrid (San Francisco, California, US))
