United Way Bay Area (UWBA) mobilizes the Bay Area to dismantle the root causes of poverty and build equitable pathways to prosperity. UWBA brings together partners from the nonprofit, business, and government sectors to address Bay Area poverty. We partner across sectors, develop solutions, capture the data we need, and use those insights to support public policy and create research-backed community initiatives. These initiatives include: 

 

  • Housing Justice: Improve access to stable, affordable housing and homelessness prevention. 
  • Employment & Career Opportunities: Build systems and pathways to career and employment opportunities. 
  • Financial Stability: Help families increase income and savings on their way to financial stability.

About the role

United Way Bay Area (UWBA) is seeking a mission-driven and collaborative Manager, Partnerships to join our Community Impact Team. In this role, you’ll help lead and strengthen a network of community-based organizations addressing basic needs, education, economic prosperity, and family stability across the Bay Area. You'll manage key SparkPoint partnerships, support technical assistance and grantmaking efforts, and foster a regional learning network that empowers families toward financial well-being. 

 

We're looking for someone with a strong background in partnership management, program coordination, and network-building — someone who thrives in collaborative environments and is passionate about community impact, equity, and innovation. 

What you'll do

  • Manage relationships with community partners and SparkPoint Centers 
  • Design, enhance, and support programs that increase economic mobility 
  • Provide technical assistance, evaluate grants, and convene regional learning events 
  • Foster partnerships with educational institutions, workforce partners, and other key stakeholders 
  • Contribute to strategic planning, research, data, and community-centered learning 

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in program management, partnerships, or community development 
  • A track record of advancing equity and supporting marginalized communities 
  • Strong communication, facilitation, and project management skills 
  • Experience designing inclusive learning events and working across diverse sectors 
  • Spanish proficiency and familiarity with Salesforce are a plus 

This position is covered under a collective bargaining agreement and is represented by OPEIU, Local 29.

UWBA is committed to equitable and transparent compensation practices. The salary listed for this role has been thoughtfully determined based on our structured approach to pay equity. As part of this commitment, we do not engage in salary negotiations.

The pay range for this role is:

76,500 - 76,500 USD per year (Hybrid (San Francisco, California, US))
