Main Focus
- Act as the subject-matter expert for safety and compliance within warehouse operations. Understand and be able to interpret OSHA and other health and safety related regulations.
- Implement warehouse EHS policies and procedures aligned across the region.
- Conduct incident investigations and root-cause analysis, create and implement corrective and preventive actions to avoid recurrence. Follow record keeping requirements.
- Conduct risk assessments related to jobs performed and new equipment, recommend appropriate risk mitigation measures to management
- Perform OSHA compliance audits and EHS inspections.
- Deliver safety training programs (e.g., forklift, ergonomics, PPE, fire drills). Coaching employees on observed unsafe behavior
- Maintain and analyze safety performance metrics (incident rate, lost time, near misses).
- Interface with external inspectors and insurance departments along with OSHA and other regulatory agencies.
- Promote a positive safety culture and safe behavior while complying with Uniuni EHS requirements and maintaining a safety work environment.
Qualifications
- OSHA 30-Hour Certification (required).
- 2–3 years of experience in safety, EHS, or related fields.
- Bachelor degree in public health or other related field with knowledge of federal and state safety regulations (ability to stay updated on changes).
- Must be self-motivated and able to work independently.
- Must be able to travel up to 50% of work time.
- Strong hands-on skills and operational understanding of warehouse safety practices.
- Demonstrated consistency in delivering safety programs and results.
- Able to keep accurate and detailed injury and illness prevention and health and safety inspection records by following OSHA record keeping requirements
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, including with operations, HR, compliance, and insurance departments.
- Excellent communication, training, and analytical skills.
- Excellent personal engagement skills and able to work with employees of different levels and with different education background.
